Sex & Nudity

  • Geordie refers to a 'gay' clergyman as a 'pansy.' Several uses of 'damn', 'hell', 'bloody', 'my God.' Sidney is a man of few words, and controls his speech. Lots of spiteful, mean-spirited talk at the dinner and afterwards.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Almost every character smokes, many continually. Lots of drinking is depicted as well. Sidney and Geordie converse while guzzling beer in a pub. Sidney is given an article to read in a psychology journal that explores war veterans' use of alcohol as a way of coping with the after-effects of battle, and PTSD. He is drinking liquor while reading, but seems to be impacted by the article.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • A character who is black is accused unfairly by two men (who seem to be suspicious simply because of his race) of theft, and the situation gets testy. Sidney has flashbacks of battle, and of comrades being shot.
