When Pamela Morton is sitting with Sidney in a restaurant, she jumps up in anger and her chair tilts over backwards, as seen from the side camera angle; then the camera shows her from the front as she talks and sits down without ever righting her chair.
The show is set in 1953. In the pilot, the vicar says he doesn't "watch football." Commercial TV didn't begin in the UK until 1955, so there was no way to watch football 2 years earlier.
Mrs Staunton mentioned that her husband said he'd take her to Carrickfergus, they would live by the see and walk by the shores of Lough Neagh. Carrickfergus is on the Antrim coast, overlooking Belfast Lough. Lough Neagh is inland, around 20 miles from Carrickfergus.
