This is hilarious

I think some people don't understand the satirical humour in this TV show. This is not a reality TV show this is acting and Nicole wanted it to come off this way; the show is meant to reflect on the archetypical views of the rich and famous living in Hollywood/LA as reality show. To be honest this show is full of dry humour which is quite hilarious actually and It's pretty smart in my opinion. If this review doesn't satisfy you do some research and even look at the cast, the "random people" that appear to be ordinary are in fact actors as well so please don't overlook this show with judgmental eyes because It's pretty sweet once you sit down and watch it.

This show is farce and it's pretty good. It's making fun of Hollywood and your typical 'reality' TV show.

The humor is pretty witty and quick. This show is scripted, there's possibly some ad lib going on, but if you think this is a 'reality' show, you'll be way off.

It's close to the vein of "Portlandia" making fun of hipsters, instead it's riffing on Hollywood and reality stars.

It's almost like a sketch comedy show. Even in it's formatting. Instead of standup a la "Chappelle" there is her in front of a white seamless discussing the topics of the episode.

Taking the reality back out of reality television
saboyagregory11 April 2015
Old reality television, such as Richie's joint venture with Paris Hilton "The Simple Life" or Flavor Flav's dating competition "Flavor of Love" as well as all of the Flav show's predecessors/spin-offs marked the genre's heyday; campy, tacky, obviously scripted and all with a PREMISE.

Noawadays, reality television is literally just filming people in their "everyday lives" (still staged productions, albeit less obvious); these shows, such as the Kardashian crap is boring and utterly pointless.

Here we have "Candidly Nicole": a happy marriage of the old prototype with the new, where Nicole is filmed in her "everyday life" however each episode is centered around a specific topic and it's all obviously scripted. In fact, it's almost as if the cast and crew went above and beyond to make it as fake looking as possible.

The show is a breath of fresh air for people who miss the hilarious camp of early-mid 2000's reality. It's meant to be ridiculous; it's meant to be comedy and anyone complaining about how it lacks "authenticity" are missing the point of reality TV in general. Maybe the sarcastic undertone was missed on some people but the title is clearly meant as irony; there's nothing candid about it. Nicole and co. are actively acting as ridiculous as possible FOR the camera. (sidenote: comedy is an art, and Nicole's timing is impeccable).

Personally, I view the Kardashian show as some cruel form of torture akin to tax season or getting lost in IKEA's mazes. I grew up on reality TV as a form of slapstick comedy, not some mundane chronicling of some petty, narcissistic brats. "Candidly Nicole" takes it back to what reality used to be and should still be. And if anything, it is a critique of the banality of Kardash drama. If you want to watch a cute, pint-sized woman act out everything that is wrong with contemporary society, this is the show for you.

Ridiculous

Hands down the worst garbage on TV right now. I used to like Nicole, but after this I think she is a complete moron that needs to give her children up for adoption, because she is not at all fit to be a parent. She complains that other mothers don't like her, but really look how she acts. She makes a mockery of doctors and other professionals on this show. She tries way too hard to appear younger than a woman in her 30s. Some of her one liners are okay, but the majority of the show makes you cringe because you think about someone this stupid having kids. Hopefully the nanny raises them, and one day they will look back to this show and be quite embarrassed,

Candidly Uncandid

What exactly is a "reality show"? As these new iterations of "reality" hit the small screen, they sometimes challenge the concept.

When you watch the Kardashians, you know they are aware of the cameras, no matter how comfortable they get with them. When you watch Leah Remini's new show ("It's All Relative"), she and her family seem to be performing for the cameras, but they seem genuine and they are genuinely funny. When you watch "#CandidlyNicole", the entire show feels like a fake. I am not saying it's scripted, but I would be surprised if the producers did not have discussions with the "actors" prior to filming, with suggestions about how they play their parts and how the story might flow.

If Nicole really is the person she portrays on her show, she admittedly has a self-deprecating sense of humor, but she is basically clueless about life. This show does not feel like reality. It feels more like a brainstorming exercise for a comedy writing troupe. There is a "let's shock the audience" feel to the proceedings #howkookycanshebe.

After ten minutes, I was ready to change channels. In this day of superior television, this show cannot even qualify as a guilty pleasure. More like torture.

What is wrong with people?

Unbelievable!

If you thought that the Kardashians having their own show was a depressing commentary on modern society, you are in for a shock, friends. It's just gotten a whole lot worse with this horrible Ritchie woman getting her own show.

Who on earth is the genius that decides who gets their own show and who doesn't?

Moreover, how on earth do they justify giving this sorry excuse for a human being airtime?

I cannot imagine a worse person based on her egregious record on various human rights issues being awarded a media platform from which to spew more bile.

Ridiculously stupid
han_hoang200226 August 2016
Warning: Spoilers
I can't imagine how anyone would find this funny. Especially when she "invented" some kind of Bluetooth device to record her voice and to wear it on her neck (it's called post its i think) and hoped that someone would invested their money in it. She is obviously making fun of herself in public. Honestly, I think that device is stupid and wondered how she would expect someone to invest money in it. She is empty-headed and unintelligent (that is a slightly discrete word for stupid) and just publicly embarrassed herself in front of TV viewers. I really hate this show and also, of course the main cast. Can't believe people watch this thing. I'm not trying to be judge-mental but seriously, this is stupid
