Strong, engaging series
Brit_in_Malaysia25 January 2020
This series around the viewpoints of a team of forensic specialists has retained the power or engaging storytelling through many years.

Leveraging off a long track record of compelling British TV drama writing, fed by theatrical traditions of subtle dialogue, combined with acting that plays an equally strong role in moving the story forward, each two-part story is underlined by social and psychological themes.

However, the key is always in the lead characters and how they react (with a great deal of poetic license!) with a different set of detectives in a wide array of crime narratives.

The short version: If you get a chance to watch from the beginning - some two plus decades worth of the stuff - you will become addicted. Good luck !

Wow what a ripper!

What an amazing episode; this is definitely the best in my opinion; worthy of being a chilling stand-alone movie on it's own. I have watched both episodes and it was frustrating having to wait to see the conclusion. The two young protagonists were perfect for their roles; you cannot but help sympathize and be drawn to them. Do yourself a favor, make a cuppa, get comfortable, put your feet up, turn off the phone/distractions and immerse yourself in this brilliant story and production. Nobody does it quite as good as the English; the best storytellers. Wait for the ending; not giving anything away; just watch it, brilliant..thank you

intense, wonderfully gripping.

It's hard to highlight exactly where Silent Witness was at its peak, but to me this is a superb two part story from one of the best seasons. Episode one has a remarkable originality, the script is so deep, so full of intrigue, that you cannot help but get drawn into it. The opening sequences are dramatic and later on mean something, but it's the curious story of the girl picking up the homeless guy and taking him home that causes the most intrigue. There is so much going on, the main cast almost seem like bit players. It's gripping, harrowing, and at times tough to watch, with scares worthy of a horror movie. The most notable thing is the incredible writing.

Loved it. 10/10

Great Setup

This is so engaging. It starts with a scene of a boy witnessing the physical and mental abuse of his mother. She, feeling threatened by her husband, kills him. That boy, as an adult, becomes critical to another situation which arises later. Cut to a person run over by a subway train, witnessed by a pretty young woman. In the course of the episode, she meets a scruffy homeless man whom she takes in, probably out of guilt. This leads to a relationship and ultimately getting involved in a streak of murders. We are also made privy to some other things that happened in the past.

Unrealistic

Warning: Spoilers
Somewhat interesting story, but far too many holes. As usual you have to swollow a lot to see the pathologists seemingly leading the police investigation. The ending totally unbelievable. One detective chasing the two criminals to the subway then instantly police at every exit. And seriously, the two criminals are not arrested!! Find it hard to believe anyone would rate this a ten.
