  Catherine Chandler : Better not to be outed on your first day back to work, Dr. Keller.

  Vincent Keller : God, that sounds weird, doesn't it? "Dr. Keller"?

  Catherine Chandler : No, it sounds perfect. It sounds normal. You worked really hard to get reinstated. You deserve to have your life back after being side-tracked.

  Vincent Keller : *We* deserve it.

  Catherine Chandler : It's almost too good to be true. I keep waiting for the other shoe to drop.

  Vincent Keller : Come on. It's been almost two months since Gabe...

  Catherine Chandler : I know.

  Vincent Keller : You're still worried about what those agents said, aren't you? About there being worse threats.

  Catherine Chandler : No! I don't know, maybe.

  Vincent Keller : If what they said was true, we would've known about it by now, right? Besides, we've sacrificed enough, okay? We don't have to sacrifice anything more. We got each other, we got our future. A normal future. Okay? And I don't wanna risk losing that ever again.

  Catherine Chandler : [shakes her head]  Neither do I. I love this, Vincent. I love our life together.

  Vincent Keller : Okay. Then stop worrying that something's gonna come along and mess it up, okay? We won't let it. I... I will definitely not let it.

• Vincent Keller : How's Zane?

  Catherine Chandler : He's alive... thanks to you.

  Vincent Keller : Uh, you mean thanks to you. I was gonna kill the guy.

  Catherine Chandler : But you didn't, you saved him. And you saved yourself.

  Vincent Keller : Again, thanks to you. So, what are they gonna do with him?

  Catherine Chandler : Agent Thomas got him into a secure medical facility until they can figure out how to help him.

  Vincent Keller : Well, if they can, I mean, I don't know what they did to the guy, but whatever it was, it sure as hell turned him into something...

  Catherine Chandler : Extraordinary?

  [Vincent nods] 

  Catherine Chandler : That's how Thomas described it.

  [nods] 

  Catherine Chandler : He said they're trying to push the limits of what's possible.

  Vincent Keller : Well, they sure as hell did that.

  Catherine Chandler : And they're gonna keep doing it, too. That's the point. According to what they told me before, it's only just begun.

  [shakes her head] 

  Catherine Chandler : They're gonna keep using New York as their own private Petri dish, using and killing innocent people until... until God knows what.

  Vincent Keller : And what, I'm supposed to stop them?

  Catherine Chandler : No, *we're* supposed to. We're in this together, Vincent, or not at all.

  [shakes her head] 

  Catherine Chandler : I don't wanna... I don't wanna force you into anything. And the last thing I wanna do... is put you in harm's way again. But what choice do we have?

  Vincent Keller : Okay, and what about us? About our future? Does it count?

  Catherine Chandler : Of course it counts. I love you, Vincent.

  [shakes her head] 

  Catherine Chandler : More than anything. But I believe that we can have both. That, that we can overcome anything if we do it together. We've already proven that. How many lives did you save today in that building?

  Vincent Keller : [shakes his head]  I don't know.

  Catherine Chandler : And what would have happened to them if you hadn't stopped Zane? We're here for a reason, Vincent, I know that. We're together for a reason. But it's not just to love each other.

  [shakes her head] 

• Catherine Chandler : [was sitting on the parapet, overlooking the city]  I didn't know if I was gonna see you again. I was giving you some space.

  Vincent Keller : Yeah, uh, thanks.

  Catherine Chandler : Although... part of me was just hoping you'd jump across the street and sweep me off my feet again.

  Vincent Keller : Well, I'm sorry to disappoint.

  Catherine Chandler : Never.

  [they look at each other] 

  Catherine Chandler : You okay?

  Vincent Keller : Yeah. Yeah, I just... I don't know. My head's still spinning... It's been a rough couple of days.

  Catherine Chandler : You think?

  Vincent Keller : Look, uh, Catherine...

  [climbs up next to her on the parapet] 

  Vincent Keller : You're right. I know as much as I want a normal life, I can't have it. I'm not normal. And like it or not - and for the record, I don't... like it - I don't really have a choice.

  Catherine Chandler : We don't have a choice. Vincent, you've been given a gift.

  [shakes her head] 

  Catherine Chandler : It might not have started out that way, but it has become that. And if you think about it, it's really not much different from why you wanted to join the Army, or why you wanted to become a doctor.

  Vincent Keller : Or why you wanted to become a cop.

  Catherine Chandler : I keep saying... I really believe that we're in this together for a reason,

  [shakes her head] 

  Catherine Chandler : not just for love.

  Vincent Keller : [nods]  Except, without that...

  [sighs] 

  Vincent Keller : I'd be lost.

  [gets up, holds out his hand to assist her down from the parapet] 

  Catherine Chandler : What are you doing?

  Vincent Keller : I'm making sure you don't fall.

  [as she looks at him puzzled, he gets down on bended knee...]
