The ocean inside my worn out drawer.

Four rookie police detectives cause a stir with their initial shenanigans but soon learn and come together as competent officers. One of the rookies is on a mission to expose the accessory to his mother's murder who happens to be his immediate superior. Corruption, murder and romance all have to be dealt with as the bonds between them grow and all their secrets are shared. Enjoyable series with great camaraderie.

Solid 8 of 10

Interesting and funny straight from the start. Only complaints would be the character Soo-Sun was really annoying and didn't know when to back off I felt myself getting increasi gly annoyed by her! I know this was for entertainment purposes but she'd have been fired ages ago for her ineptitude, I also felt the love story between her and Eun Dae Gu didn't work. It just felt strained and weird, friends tes...a brother sister bond, yes...but love interest??? Nah not sold on that one. I did like the friendship between the 4 rookies especially Guk and Tae Il. Would recommend if you can get past some of Soo Sun's annoying tendencies. Pretty enjoyable all the way through.

Like a Korean Movie, without the grit.

Warning: Spoilers
I've been watching a ton of Korean movies on NF in the last two years, and now they're starting to get Korean TV shows, so I decided to give this one a try. The first episode was very well done; funny characters, good acting and directing, good music with little or no synths, and an interesting plot. We figured the rest of the series would be the same, but it got kind of repetitive after a while; the same music cues repeated endlessly, sometimes inappropriate for the scene, and almost always overly sentimental. They milked the Dickensian plot for twenty episodes, and it got kind of stupid after a while, but you get hooked because you want to find out who the killer was, who ordered him to kill the mother, etc... The humor (a lot of it unintentional) also kept us watching. It was aimed at a younger audience, so there was nothing in it that wouldn't fit into a G rating. In the end it was worth watching, but the same music cues used on all twenty episodes (maybe they were too cheap to hire a composer) drove me nuts.

I loved this so much!

I'm usually very harsh about korean dramas. I look for solid characters. I'm okay if they neglect the side characters as much, but the main characters have to dynamic. This drama is amazing and extremely underrated. There are plenty of twist and turns that are unconventional with enough doses of romance. It has moments of comedy and tragedy. If you like a good story of noble vengeance and a lead with a dark past this is definitely for you.

Also, the mystery aspect of this series is very good. The mystery of the perpetrator seems clear at times and then you and the characters are thrown for another loop.

This was perfect since I was getting sick of cliché romance dramas. If you are too, please check this out.

Great

I absolutely loved this show. The characters were strong and gelled well. The writers again are on top of their game. I am addicted to k-drama and have watched loads. All individual and have a uniqueness of sorry telling. I really wish they were a second season to this show. It's one I could continue watching.

A Thrilling Drama
elbehar9 May 2024
Can four newly recruited detectives who come from different backgrounds, with different dreams and past lives succeed? The Gangnam Police Department isn't exactly the dream station any new detective hopes to find for their career. With the help of their team leader Legendary Detective Pan Seok Dae(Cha Seung-won), Koo (Lee Seung-gi), Soo Sun (Go Ara), Tae Il (Ahn Jae-Hyun), and Kook (Park Jeong-min) are led towards finally finding a place in this world.

Working together, they were able to find friendship, a family, and even love.

Though it started out as a comedy it ended up to be a thrilling drama.

What a Mess...
fake_moviestar21 October 2020
A somewhat decent murder mystery marred by cliche's, bad acting, and melodramatic directing. The actors in this are actually pretty decent, and I blame the writing/directing for the bad acting, along with a repeating soundtrack that felt straight out of a soap opera. The plot actually had some potential, and the beginning episodes felt fresh and somewhat original, but quickly became messy and drawn out towards the end of the show. Do yourself a favor and skip this - there are a ton of better kdrama's and this one is long and will waste your time.
