You can enjoy this show in different prespective

The one thing that people tend to do when watching a drama/thriller movie is that they tend to read the story in a realistic way, i agree with that and all but in order to enjoy this show, you must focus on the action and the characters because if you focused on the story you will end up noticing plot holes which are a legit criticism. Just enjoy the show for what it is: a B-action plot with great action and amazing acting.

Meets or exceeds expectations..

Of course, it depends what your expectations were.

This is not the entry point for newbies. If you have heard about this series from a friend and want to try it, start at the beginning. You will thank me later.

If you are a fan-fan, you expected the start of the third year to carefully throw a bunch of plot arcs into the air (like spinning plates) against a backdrop of drama, action, suspense, great characters and great acting.

You will not be disappointed. The characters are not only evolving but (the hallmark of a great series) by now they feel like family. A dysfunctional family but still family.

The number of illegal and homicidal and larcenous things going on in Banshee is extraordinary. The "native American" terror cell story arc alone is enough to set relations with that group back 200 years. But this is what we have come to expect from one of the most outrageous shows on the air -- the one show that, since the days of Buffy and Angel, is most often associated with the phrase "guilty pleasure." I especially love (the trademark of the series in my view) the way the episode starts slow and builds and builds and builds. Ending with the return of Nola (played by the striking Odette Anabell) who is not only my favorite character in the series but also the deadliest.

And in this series there are so many deadly characters to pick from, it is actually hard to choose.

Still on track

Warning: Spoilers
I was worried about season 3, because sooner or later all TV shows get to the point where the story becomes completely irrelevant, and the only reason the creators keep pumping out new episodes is the fact that they can still make money with it. At the end of season 2 I felt that Banshee got to that point. It was not terribly difficult to accept that Hood first stayed in Banshee because he was mad and frustrated, and then because he wanted to protect Carrie from her father, but once Rabbit was dead, the only logical move would have been to leave town – which would have meant the end of the show as well.

But Hood stayed. The writers made Carrie not to reveal Hood's true identity, so he could stay as a sheriff. This explanation is not the worst that you could think of, even though it meant the end of Carrie's marriage and the falling apart of her family – the two things that were the most important for her, as we were constantly reminded in the first two seasons. Either way, I can accept this solution, and I guess the writers will have nine more episodes to make her decision more credible. That's why I think the show is still on track.

And because crazy things still keep happening in Banshee. Right in the first scene we see the whole sheriff department executing a suspect in the middle of the night. Two super villains are brought back, and we learn that there is a military base as well near the town. The only thing Banshee is missing is a top secret underground lab where they experiment of a virus that later on zombifies 99% of humanity. I'm really curious how hot a zombie Rebecca would look, locked away in Proctor's cellar, fed daily with some fresh Native American flesh.

Dumbest episode yet

Warning: Spoilers
If a bow & some pistols could take out 4 fully armed and armored marines, the native Americans would have defeated every European in the first place.

And in the middle of machine gun fire, a meathead rebel slow walks to steals a gigantic military truck with huge tires and slowly drives closely by the cops, and the sherif just stares at the guy and doesn't shoot out the GIGANTIC tires about 20' from his face.

Every episode of this show is loaded with cliches and plot holes, but this one is eye-rolling-face-palm stupid.

First review was rejected I guess

Warning: Spoilers
So I will make this one short. The premise of the redbones stealing a convoy truck from a bunch of marines is flat out idiotic. That would never happen or even be possible. Why does every group in this show have an invincible character? This show is not good. The story is so outlandish it's really laughable. But, the action and gore is pretty good. Overall the show is a 6-7. Some is good, a lot is bad. Action is great.
