Simple, intense, meaningful, and beautiful...
RosanaBotafogo3 August 2021
Fiction loosely inspired by the story of director Samuel Theis' mother, "Sexygenarian" Angélique Litzenburger, a 60-year-old hostess who likes partying, men and alcohol, a former real-life cabaret owner, and her children playing herself themselves, that's the difference, acting as themselves, simple, intense, meaningful, and the drama is tangled up in the matriarch's doubt, between marrying and settling down, or living in the inspiring world of gangland, and union with the children, and adopted daughter, beautiful...

A very beautiful movie

A terrific emotion twister this film is. So tense, so poignant, with so powerful sequences and characters. All in this movie means truth, certainly because the actors are not really ones. The three directors asked them just to play with their own words, their own emotions, with no lines to learn by heart. Word by word, as certainly true actors would have done.

Yes this movie so so realistic, at one hundred percent, and I would say at two hundred percent. A real hit in the face that shows you the true face of life and also the complexity which exist between human beings.

A true masterpiece with an outstanding characterization.

The lead actress who plays with her real name is maybe not an attractive woman at first sight, but for me she represents the most beautiful woman in the world.

Many sequences made me weep. So as this one, when she visits her "lost" daughter - and also the actual one in life - who lives with Foster parents. The scene between the two of them with the Foster mother just besides is absolutely unforgettable, a graven image in my memory.

A beautiful portrayal of reality

The film was a bit slow to start and get into, but wow, was it ever moving! One of those types of movies that stays with you. I could really empathize with Angelique's situation, and felt her sense of void.

Overall very well done and well worth a watch!
