There are many sides to human nature but in the case of Immunity, human nature is revealed through a mysterious box and a stranger, who in many ways seems like a sociopath - dispassionate, devoid of empathy or care, and ultimately, lacking in guilt or guile -- in other words, immune.
We see the effects of this stranger and his box through the eyes of a central character who "befriends" the stranger and has a front-row seat, it would seem, to the lure of the box and how it affects others.
Curiosity, tis' a powerful force indeed.
Shot in Bulgaria (on actual 35mm film stock no less), a rather interesting country in and of itself, employing a stellar cast, Immunity has excellent visuals, a wonderfully arranged soundtrack and gives the viewer that sense of voyeurism without taking risk.
In other words, we too, as the audience, are not immune to the lure of mysterious strangers and their cargo.
