Title speaks for itself. Cartoon Network at the time was just about to go downhill but it luckily managed to save its own skin via a show like Mixels...
Sure, the gap between episodes was massively inconsistent. Sure, characters like Balk, Tentro, Chilbo, never really obtained much from the show. And finally, sure, I would agree the ending was the most wasted potential ever, but this show was delivered with the best concept you could ever think of.
Mixels, as a show, was pretty much more about potential than execution. It was at its heaviest at series 1 (and to a lesser extent, series 2), then it started to diminish right after, until NNGA where it went super downhill. And that's pretty sad because us fans expected more from such a large cast of characters throughout the series and seasons.
But that's okay, as you, fans and watchers, get to shape up your creativity and ideas. This show was about creativity anyway, I guess.

Mixels is easily one of the best Lego franchises. It has an interesting topic. It involves combining the characters together. The characters aren't just the basic Lego Minifigures (the basic head, torso, legs, items, and headpiece). Really helps with creativity. The characters in the show aren't computer renditions of the Legos. The show has it's own cartoonish renditions of the characters. For me, the best part of the show was when it was 1 to 2 minute shorts. It started to loose it's spark after making it long. The last two episodes barely had the characters that actually had the sets. The episodes were meant to be about those characters but they had just a minor role. I remember getting into Mixels when I was young. It sure brings back some nostalgia. Even when I rewatch the shorts now, I still like them. I felt sad when I heard that the franchise ended.
This show had beautiful animation, great character designs and unique concept. The best LEGO cartoon and best LEGO theme ever! All Mixels have unique abilities and personalities given to them and they show how people with different skills can do everything into possible when they help and mix each other. It teaches the importance of working together in harmony. It doesn't make you laugh like crazy but it's still funny enough enjoy. The only thing bad about the show is it's too short. Episodes about first two series of Mixels last a few minutes and other series of Mixels only have specials per series. I wish we had more opportunity to explore the world of Mixels. Specials last a lot longer but they just aren't enough. At first the animation was a lot better and handled better in terms of introducing characters but later, animation quality dropped and the main Mixels of the series got dropped as the citizens of Mixopolis were put in the spotlight. By the time tribes got repetitive and promotional material wasn't enough. It was doomed to end as the interest of both Cartoon Network and LEGO were decreased. It was great while it lasted. One of the best shows produced by Cartoon Network in the last decade. It is just too beautiful and well crafted.
I used to have a huge mixels hyperfixation in 2015-2016, I had almost all the toys and watched the cartoon everyday. I recently decided to rewatch it for nostalgia purposes and didn't really enjoy it as much as I used to, although that is understandable as I am obviously much older then when I was when I first watched it.
I didn't really laugh at the jokes as much, found some of the characters to be quite irritating and it felt kind of repetitive. Although I do think the newer, longer episodes were better and I feel like it could've become a genuinely good show if it wasn't cancelled so quick.
In short, I don't think it's at all a terrible show as I used to enjoy it so much, I'd say it's a pretty good if you have the right mindset for it. The toys are still good though.
