The Best Episode So Far

Eph, Nora, Jim and Setrakian go to a pharmacy depot seek out ultraviolet lights to fight the vampires but the place is closed. Eph decides to break in and surprisingly there is no activation of the alarm system. They stumble upon the looter Vasilly Fet that has already taken the lamps. They negotiate to split the lamps and they go to a convenience store to buy some supplies. Out of the blue, the place is under siege of the vampires and they team-up also with Dutch Velders, who is shopping with her girlfriend, trying to flee from the place.

"Creatures of the Night" is so far the best episode of "The Strain". It seems that Setrakian will join the army he wished for with Fet and Dutch. The episode is tense, full of action and with one casualty of an important character. My vote is nine.

This episode of The Strain seemed to have only one event, which was the gas station fight scene. The episode didn't really progress anything in the story. I think the writers only wanted to feature a big fight between the vampires and Eph's team.

The only big thing that happened was what happened to Jim. What happened to Jim was slightly different than in the book. I'm interested to see what will happen with the British girl and Eph's team. I forgot her name.

Will they find out what she did?

We'll have to wait till next Sunday.

Reaction / Review for The Strain Season 1 Episode 8: Episode 7 was amazing and I gave it a rating of 9.5/10. I like our team so far, all interesting characters. And the team is about to get bigger if they add Fet. I love that the vampires feel like an actual threat. Jim got injured, I really hope he wont turn into a vampire, I like the character. Oh yeah it seems like Vasiliy is now part of the team, really bad-ass characters. Oh no Jim is infected, that sucks! Ok so they removed the worm, will Jim survive this? I hope he does. Ok, so these vampires can be smart too, no more electricity. Dutch seems like an interesting character. Damn, Jim is still infected, that sucks! That's it, goodbye Jim, so sad. Wow, the scene when they try to escape is chaotic, really intense. Wonderful episode overall. My rating is 9/10.

Brilliantly Written and Great Television

Just got watching this episode and all of the components were there for a great story and brilliant acting. The equivalent and better than any off The Walking Dead episodes. The situation was realistically portrayed and absolutely draws you in like all of the episodes of Season 1.

Extremely Awful!

1. Just the odds of Eph, Nora and Abraham running into Rat Man (Vasiliy Fet) and then those 4 running into the Woman that hacked the internet in the gas station is pretty bad odds.

2. What the $!*& happened to Noras Mother? The writers decide they do not want to kill her off so they just pretend like she not there anymore? lol what a joke!

3. Eph, Nora, Abraham and Rat Man are way scarier than the so-called Vampires outside the store that the customers and workers inside would rather run outside because they felt safer that way? LMAO.

4. Isn't the Internet and Phone lines down? Did the clerk not say that the credit card machines were not working??? How in the hell were they able to use a credit card on the gas pump then and even they say it waiting approval?

It is bad story lines like these that make this show really bad. There are more things that could be listed for just this one episode (All the other episodes are just as bad if not worse!) but I wasted enough of my life just watching the 8 episodes already and do not want to waste more for this review.

I also can not believe that people are rating this show so high.

Incredibly sloppy writing

So all the main characters just happened to meet for the first time, at the same warehouse and gas station, just ready to be put in a fight together against a bunch of enemies? Come on!

The CDC woman apparently already knows the hacker woman too, no intro or lead up needed!

I can't believe how sloppy written this episode was! I hate when characters go on rails to be where the writer intended them to be. Making unrealistic choices, or being subject to too many lucky happenstances.

The rest of the show isn't that bad. Casting is not the best, but story and universe is intriguing. It feels like a B show, but I'll continue to watch it since I love vampire universes and the mythology.
