Star Wars: Tales of the Underworld

I really liked episodes 1 - 3. The fact 'that' story arc only lasted 3 episodes (no spoilers) was a gross waste of potential. I would have watched 10 episodes about 'her'. The writing was good, the plot teased some genuinely interesting story possiblitues but it all lead to nothing as 3 episides was all we got. Unfortunately episodes 3 - 6 involve Cad Bane, whom I've never liked. His Western movie bad guy identity just doesn't fit into Star Wars. But that's Disney Star Wars for you. Your mileage may very. I gave this a 5/10 only because I liked half of the episodes and the rest for me were not Star Wars.

I have been a huge star wars fan since watching the prequel trilogy in the movies but i have not been that into star wars content in the past few years except for some shows mostly animated which i think almost always hit the mark when it comes to making star wars something that fits George's vision. Tales of the underworld hits all the marks that i think are needed for a quality star wars product and this makes me think every star wars show should be animated because quite frankly I think every animated show so far that has been created by filoni has been everything that the live action shows are not.

Wasn't expecting much from Tales of the Underworld, but I was pleasantly surprised. For a short-form miniseries, it delivers solid storytelling, cool visuals, and a darker tone that fits the underworld vibe of Star Wars perfectly.

Episodes 4-6 stood out to me the most-there's a deeper look into a familiar character that longtime fans will enjoy. The overall plot is decent, though some twists are easy to predict if you're paying attention. Still, it works and doesn't feel lazy.

It starts fast, ends fast, and never overstays its welcome. Not a game-changer, but definitely worth watching-especially if you're into the criminal side of the galaxy.

With the great Tales of the Jedi and the not so great Tales of the Empire we already got two mini-mini series in the infamous Clone Wars animation style. Tales of the Underworld sets a new benchmark for these kind of shows.

Asajj Ventress and Cad Bane are one of the best Clone Wars characters and Dave Filoni just knows how to treat with them. The first three episodes show us how Ventress finds balance in the force and helps a young jedi padawan to survive. "Neither side was right" - yes, that is the right conclusion!

And Cad Bane, wow, what can I say. I love this character and getting to see how Cad Bane has become the greatest bounty hunter of all time is just pure fan service to me. I love that he grew up on this rough planet with barely something to eat. But by doing business and taking the opportunities he gets he managed to escape poverty and become a bounty hunter. His revenge on his old best friend is cold as ice! No, cold as Cad Bane!

All in all a worthy addition to the Star Wars universe and it shows that there is still something good in 2025's Star Wars.

Unexpectedly starts with burial of someone, who gets a choice to return back to life, provided she loses her hearts desire (her love of a person in their previous life). Little interlude with favourite, yet forgotten characters. Good potential to teach some good life lessons to adolescents. Too much darkness in some scenes spoils the intent to show a deary location in all it fullness. I hope the series has a satisfactory ending to make the journey worthwhile. Nice lot of mystery. Good voice acting and exciting action scenes with consistent storylines. Pleasant and thoughtful storytelling for the intended audience. Very enjoyable. 8/10.
