Mary and Francis are concerned when they find out that part of the marriage negotiations that they signed when they got married was that if she died without an heir that France would get Scotland. In reality before they got married to she signed papers to ensure Scotland's autonomy. However she also did sign treaties that were very beneficial to France at the expense of Scotland which her De Guise Uncles tricked her into signing.
