A thriller feature that is set to star Kim Kardashian has landed at Amazon MGM Studios.

Plot details are currently under wraps for the untitled project that stemmed from an original idea by Natalie Krinsky, who will write the script. Krinsky conceived the idea with Kardashian in mind, and it has yet to be determined whether the film will be planned for theatrical or streaming.

Kardashian, Krinsky and Made Up Stories’ Bruna Papandrea are set to produce.

Krinsky is known for writing and directing the 2020 romantic comedy The Broken Hearts Gallery that starred Geraldine Viswanathan, Dacre Montgomery and Utkarsh Ambudkar. She has also written for such series as Red Band Society and the original Gossip Girl.

This is the latest acting move for Kardashian, who currently stars on the Hulu unscripted series The Kardashians after rising to prominence with her family’s longtime E! show, Keeping Up With the Kardashians.

Marco Pigossi was just spotted filming a steamy scene at the beach with co-star Ciara Bravo!

The 34-year-old Brazilian actor and the 26-year-old Cherry actress were seen making out during an intimate scene on the beach on Monday (December 11) in Malibu, Calif.

Marco took to his Instagram Stories to reveal that he was filming at the Malibu Pier. It’s unclear what the project this scene is for.

“Hoje o escritorio e na praia mesmo,” he wrote in Portuguese. This translates to, “today the office is on the beach.”

Marco is best known to American audiences for his work as Dr. Edison Cardosa on Prime Video’s Gen V, a spinoff of The Boys. He has also been seen in the Netflix shows High Seas and Invisible City.

“Dating in Barcelona” has left to big ratings in Spain, both on its first window debut on Catalan public network TV3 and on Amazon’s Prime Video, where it bowed to become the streaming services most watched show.

Barcelona-based Filmax, the series production house, is now bringing the show to Conecta Fiction as one of its banner new offerings.

Written by Pau Freixas Èric Navarro, Ivan Mercadé, Clara Esparrach and Eduard Sola, it follows in the course of an episode two dates happening simultaneously in the city of Barcelona. Drawing contrast and larger social point from one another, the series manages to make insightful commentary on the modern ways of dating while shuttling dynamically from each story, always maintaining a lighter mood.

When Abigail Cowen first read the script for Netflix’s “Fate: The Winx Saga,” she knew it was special. The show involved teenage fairies, attending a private boarding school. But while the series had that magic supernatural twist, its group of high schoolers had relatable insecurities and struggles with growing up and finding who you are.

Taylor Sheridan’s upcoming CIA drama series “Lioness” at Paramount+ has added three new actors to its cast, Variety has learned exclusively.

James Jordan, Lamonica Garrett, and Dave Annable have all joined the show. All three have previously worked with Sheridan — Jordan and Annable on the hit Paramount Network series “Yellowstone” and Garrett in the “Yellowstone” prequel series “1883.” Jordan also appeared in “1883” as well as Sheridan’s Paramount+ series “Mayor of Kingstown” and in his features “Wind River” and “Those Who Wish Me Dead.”

The three join previously announced cast members Zoe Saldaña and Laysla De Oliveira.

Mimoun has signed up to serve as showrunner and exec producer on HBO Max’s The Girls on the Bus – a drama series inspired by Amy Chozick‘s Chasing Hillary.

The project, which comes from Julie Plec, Chozick, Berlanti Productions and Warner Bros. TV, has had a long journey to screen, having originally landed at Netflix with a series order over two and a half years ago, moving to The CW for development in the last broadcast cycle before landing a series order at HBO Max earlier this year.

Skydance Television, Concord Originals, and Jennifer Lopez’s Nuyorican Productions are teaming to develop a limited series based on Rodgers and Hammerstein’s “Cinderella.”

Rachel Shukert will write the adaptation in addition to serving as executive producer and showrunner. Lopez, Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas, and Benny Medina will executive produce for Nuyorican. David Ellison, Dana Goldberg and Bill Bost will executive produce for Skydance, alongside Sophia Dilley, senior vice president of development and production at Concord Originals and Concord CEO Scott Pascucci. This is the first project under the previously announced deal between the companies to develop a slate of original projects based on Concord’s catalog of musicals.

Exclusive: Mere days after Melissa McBride exited The Walking Dead spinoff with Norman Reedus, more change has come to the AMC series.

Stumptown executive producer David Zabel has joined the as-yet-untitled Twd spinoff as showrunner, AMC confirmed to Deadline exclusively. Zabel replaces current Twd showrunner Angela Kang, as the day-to-day boss on the now Reedus solo series that will be set in and shot in Europe. The spinoff is set to premiere in 2023.

Kang stepped aside to concentrate on other projects she has in development with AMC, we’re told. As Twd winds down its 11th and final season, Kang will serve as EP of the spinoff along with Scott M. Gimple, among others. WME-repped Zabel’s deal was sealed in recent weeks, before McBride’s exit was assured.

Brianna Bennett has been named senior vice president of network drama for ABC Entertainment, Variety has learned.

Bennett comes to ABC from CBS Studios, where she served as vice president of drama development since 2014. She takes over heading up drama for the broadcaster from Brian Morewitz, whose exit was announced back in July. In her new role, Bennett will report to Simran Sethi, executive vice president of development and content strategy for ABC Entertainment. She will lead the drama series development team and oversee the department’s day-to-day operations, including creatively supervising production of new drama pilots for ABC.

When the Covid-19 pandemic forced production shutdowns and office closures, Jaime Dávila, president and co-founder of Campanario Entertainment and executive producer of “Selena: The Series,” found himself “mostly working in bed, college-style,” he says with a laugh.

Three months into the pandemic, though, he realized it was time to finally carve out a dedicated workspace in his Los Angeles home, the most important piece of which is his standing desk. His company has always had the philosophy of “working where you are,” but he is excited to get back to the “human-to-human contact” of in-person meetings.

The streamer is considering a development deal for the project, produced by Universal Television, where Bans is under a deal.

Co-created and executive produced by Bans and Krebs, who also would serve as showrunners, the Untitled Bans/Krebs Anthology Project follows darkly comedic twisted love stories throughout history. The first season, based on the Washington Post article “Flight of the Heart,” explores the true story of Ron McIntosh and Samantha “Dorinda” Lopez, two unlikely criminals who met at the original Club Fed prison in the mid-1980s, fell in love and desperate to be together forever, staged what would become one of the most daring prison escapes in history.

Longtime Disney/ABC exec Emily Cummins has been named president of Julie Plec’s Universal Television-based banner My So-Called Company.

There, she will oversee development and produce projects for the company, including those that “Vampire Diaries” creator Plec creates and writes.

The TV arm of the festival, which is being held online this year due to the pandemic, said the shows reflect “unconventional and surprising topics, narratives and visual style [that] comprise a mirror of our time.”

Spanish pay TV operator Movistar Plus and HBO Max have joined forces on the upcoming second season of Leticia Dolera’s “Perfect Life,” which recently wrapped shooting under strict Covid-19 restrictions. The film, which opens in theaters on Friday, follows Lucy (Viswanathan) who curates a gallery of memorabilia from past relationships and heart breaks, after her breakup with much older Max (Utkarsh Ambudkar) and encourages others who are getting over a breakup to donate to the gallery. France TV Distribution is launching international sales on Pascal Elbé’s romantic comedy Hear Me Out ,about a history teacher in denial about losing his hearing, at next week’s virtual Cannes.

Netflix is making its first foray into German original films, unveiling a slate of three projects that it will produce with local film and TV powerhouses Ufa, X Filme and Zdf.

In the lineup are “Betongold” (“Concrete Gold”), a fast-paced satire about the world of real estate from Ufa Fiction; “Isi & Ossi,” a young-adult romcom from X Filme Creative Pool; and “Freaks,” a drama about a working-class mom with supernatural powers, from Zdf and Lüthje Schneider Hörl Film. The movies are set to start production this spring and will be released globally on Netflix from 2020.

The feature projects follow Netflix’s strong commitment to series in Germany, where it is currently producing a slew of shows, including supernatural hit “Dark” and gritty crime drama “Dogs of Berlin.”

CBS has given out pilot orders to the drama projects “Under the Bridge” and “Nancy.”

In “Under the Bridge,” when a scandal rocks the medical practice she runs with her husband and their friends, a surgeon rises to the occasion and takes the lead in trying to mend both the practice and her own marriage.

The series hails from Rina Mimoun, who will serve as writer and executive producer. Jerry Bruckheimer, Jonathan Littman, and KristieAnne Reed of Jerry Bruckheimer Television will also executive produce. CBS Television Studios will produce in association with Jerry Bruckheimer Television.

Mimoun recently co-created and executive produced the drama pilot “Playing Dead” for CW. Her other credits include “Mistresses,” “Red Band Society,” “Pushing Daisies,” “Gilmore Girls,” and “Everwood.” “Under the Bridge” was one of two development projects she set up after signing an overall deal at CBS TV Studios back in September, with the other being...

Tele München Group’s world sales unit, Tm International, has sold its high-end television series “The Name of the Rose,” starring John Turturro, to multiple territories, including the BBC in the U.K., Sky in Germany and Ocs in France.

Additionally it has been acquired by Yle in Finland, Nrk in Norway, Dr in Denmark, Sbs in Australia, Vrt in Belgium, Rtp in Portugal, Ceska TV in Czech Republic, Sky in New Zealand, and Iti in Poland. As previously announced, AMC’s SundanceTV holds the rights for the U.S. and Canada, and Rai will air the show in Italy.

Mimoun has already set up two new projects this development season at CBS TV Studios, one at CBS and the other at The CW with Mimoun serving as writer and executive producer on both projects.

Cystic fibrosis activist Claire Wineland, the founder of non-profit organization “Claire’s Place Foundation,” died Sunday as a result of a stroke she suffered just over a week ago after a double lung transplant. She was 21.

The foundation’s chairman of the board Laura McHolm announced the news on Facebook on Monday, writing, “She was one red hot spark of inspiration and joy, wasn’t she? Rest In Peace Sweet Warrior Claire, we will continue where you left off.” The foundation, which Wineland started at the age of 13, is meant to provide support to children and families affected by cystic fibrosis.
