Sex & Nudity

  • In the opening scene the princess wears an outfit that exposes her abdomen. It's more of a nightgown than anything else.
  • A short scene shows a girl naked in a pool of water. Her arms are folded across her chest, but her breasts are still visible.
  • Two CPR scenes, both between a boy and a girl. At one point, a girl kisses a boy, much to his surprise.
  • There's a shower scene where two women engage in a violent struggle. Although nipples are never, the vast majority of the women's breasts are fully visible, with the nipples only barely concealed by their elbows.
  • Some of the female characters wear miniskirts. There are few comments about this. In one scene, several of the female characters wear revealing swimwear. One girl wears very short shorts in the first season and a midriff in the second.
  • Girls are seen in the shower during a death scene, but nothing is shown as they are minors. (This is meant to be a frightening scene.)

Violence & Gore

  • There's a prolonged scene where a boy (in his late teens or early twenties) is tortured with electricity, a baton, and a whip. The scene is surprisingly non-graphic (no blood, only minor bruising shown on the boy's skin), but it is still mildly upsetting.
  • Lots of war violence. Characters are shot, blow up, squashed, etc. There are occasional blood spatters.

Profanity

  • In the English dub/English subtitles: "d**n" "h**l" "b****h" "d**kheads" "b******s" "a*s"

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • A character regularly drinks alcohol but later tries to stop. At one point, a girl compulsively grabs a bottle of alcohol and drinks while a couple other people stare at her astonished.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • The first few episodes in particular contain highly intense sequences. There are massive explosions (including mushroom clouds), buildings collapsing or evaporating, and many people dying, mostly civilians.
  • A girl witnesses a giant machine crush her father.
  • The VERS Empire war machines possess weaponry of mass destruction. One has an energy barrier that absorbs everything it touches, buildings and people alike. Others have massive blades and whips, create vortexes, clone themselves, fire detachable energy guns of even their own mechanical limbs, or use lightning attacks.
  • A boy is tortured over the course of an episode. He is electrified through chains suspending him off the ground by his wrists as well as repeatedly struck by a cane or whip on his chest and back. At one point, a man shoves the barrel of a gun into the boy's mouth.
  • A character is strangled but ultimately survives
