Very good.

Who on Earth would kill Alexander Jackson, a wealthy and successfully property developer? And why on Earth was be found dead without his shirt on?

I did enjoy this episode, particularly in comparison to the previous episode, which was a real disappointment.

A good story, which is well paced, a good mix of humour and mystery, I liked the tone, particularly the sequences in the house during the storm.

Great acting, I loved both Jimmy Akingbola and Nikki Amuka Bird, both in particular were excellent.

I liked the humour during the card scenes, and I loved the deeper conversation between Humphrey and Camille.

I liked this one, 8/10.

Another great episode beyond a great mystery

I adore this show for so many reasons. This episode highlights one often overlooked reason- downtime with the Team. During the storm we get a chance for the gang to hunker down, talk as more than coworkers, and we see them enjoy time playing cards together. I find this a special extra within this show. It isn't extreme or extended, but rather just small tidbits and insights sprinkled throughout the seasons. It is the secret sauce for me. I hope you enjoy and kudos to the weiters for the well crafted work. 💓💓💓

Enjoyable, though not remarkable.

Warning: Spoilers
After DI Goodman took over, "Death in Paradise" has not been the same. "The Wrong Man" was almost terrible, "An Artistic Murder" okay enough, but truly lacking, "Ye of Little Faith" happened to be decent, "Political Suicide" has been the only solid episode after "Death of a Detective", "The Early Bird" was enjoyable, but frustrating at times. "The Man with the Golden Gun" though is in my opinion just as good as the previous entry.

Let's start with good, shall we?

. The production values are great as usual. The episode looks and sounds good. The acting's fine too. Kris Marshall is growing on me from episode to episode.

. It was nice to see more backstory on DI Goodman. The mystery was fun to watch as well with good red herrings, quirky humor, which is finally back and mostly works.

But....

. The characters and the mystery could have been much better if little more intrigue was given to them. The murder mystery truly lacks of solid twists and turns, which were needed at some point.

. The clumsiness of DI Goodman is still thought as funny. Even though it's more a like a second form humor.

. The solution also left me cold with dull motive and predictable murderer (Terrance) I saw coming a mile away.

Overall, not a great watch.

6/10 HK
