Season 6 is a all in great season of the show, though it starts off slow with characters grieving and the fallout from the previous season but this is still a really good episode.

Where do I start on this pathetic season premiere? The show is digressing to a childish, immature level!! Elana is acting like a three year old who is never getting her way!! Stephan is acting like the rebellious twenty one year old who is made at his family and friends! As I have said before, this show has been going downhill since season two ended and it has now hit rock bottom and is pushing through that!! Why could they not just stick to the books and forget all this nonsense they did??
Let's not forget that Alaric is now a vampire and has basically lost the humanity that made him extremely like able in the first two season!

Elena's Hallucinations of Damon

Everyone is grieving and separated. Elena gets Luke to make her some kind of herbal concoction so she can hallucinate Damon. Caroline has been spending the entire summer with her mom on the outskirts of town. Matt and Jeremy are residing in Mystic Falls where all magic is extinct. Jeremy is coping by getting drunk before 12, having random girls over and playing video games. Stefan is now working as a car repair man. Elena plans on becoming a medical doctor and she works at a clinic where she answers a question. Stefan sees he is cheated on his pay and his employer asks him what is he going to do about it? He cannot really do anything unless if he wants to go back to wherever he came from and lose his job.
Elena is on campus wearing shorts and a tank with heeled booties. I love Caroline's white top and pink shorts. Elena tells Caroline to come to the football game where there is a party and Tyler overhears. He joins and walks alongside Elena telling Caroline to come. Caroline's mom encourages her to go because they have been spending summer together. The Sheriff knows her daughter feels comfortable with the familiar after Bonnie's death but she cannot go on like this. Elena still needs her. Caroline doesn't know why Elena doesn't seem to be grieving over Damon. She doesn't know about the drugs she is taking. At the outdoor party, Liv looks very hot with her legs crossed and sultry face. This catches Tyler's and Alaric's attention.
Stefan meets a new asian girl at the car repair shop named Ivy. She comes in with a towel to the bedroom and kisses Stefan. Ivy doesn't know anything about him and wants to know more. He tells her he is a vampire and she scoffs.
Elena vows to not take any more of the drugs after she nearly kills a girl on the outskirts of Mystic Falls. The drugs make her really thirsty and the girl runs into the Mystic Falls bubble where no supernaturals can enter. Matt and Sheriff Forbes save the day by getting the girl into a car and bringing her to the outskirts of town where Caroline compels her.
In the last scene we see Damon in a plaid top making breakfast for Bonnie and himself. They read newspapers.
