The characters all pronounce the Gemini program as "Gem-en-eye", whereas NASA officially used the pronunciation "Gem-en-knee". NASA's public affairs office stated it was pronounced like "Jiminy Cricket".
During the dinner honoring Alan Shepard's 6th anniversary flight, a photo of 'Earth Rise' is on display. This photo would not be taken until Apollo 8, a few years later.
