My one year old loves it.
Guvnah034 September 2014
I'm hoping that my son doesn't watch a lot of TV and uses his own imagination in play...that being said, this show holds his attention for 20 minutes straight and I find nothing inappropriate about it.

The 'villains' are hilarious (I'm a fan of Bobgoblin) and the phonetic lessons are great for the very young.

Wally teaches rhyming (all the magic words had to rhyme with bash), letter sounds, and group letter sounds (sp, tr, etc).

Most of the characters are likable and the songs are catchy. I think this show is a great opportunity for learning in young children. I certainly hope there are more episodes made!

'Wallykazam' is great for young kids.
vasgirl128 August 2014
I am not part of the targeted demographic, but I wish I had this show as a kid. Not only does 'Wallykazam' expand kids' vocabulary, but also puts them in fun situations. The situations are creative, and could influence a kid to engage in higher-level thinking.

My only qualms about the show would be that the animation could be better. The animation is not as fluid as it could be, but that is only a minor setback. The average kid watching couldn't care less about the animation. Content-wise, the show is excellent and the voice-acting is impeccable. This show is adorable, and I would recommend this to children.

My baby sister likes it and that's all that matters
deideiblueeyez3 August 2014
I think this show is cute, to be honest, and my baby sister, who is 2 as this review is being typed, absolutely loves the show. I think the songs are great and catchy and I think Norville the dragon makes a cute sidekick. The art style isn't that bad and I think the semi-flip book cut out look really works for it. And my baby sister is learning some top- notch words for her age like "vanish". I like this much better than Super Why! and Dora the Explorer, that's for sure.

Bobgoblin is a little rascal and my baby sis likes pretending she sees him in the bushes outside our house and scolding him for being naughty; my step dad plays along with the whole thing much to both of their amusement. I think Wally is a lovable little troll and I honestly don't see why this show is so bad compared to other shows aimed at a very similar demographic. To me it's kind of refreshing and sometimes hits some things on the nose for older people watching with their kids to enjoy. It's rare, but it happens.

Great show, but unfair ratings!
jezzyra27 August 2014
This show is fantastic, if you have kids. I'm not sure why there have been so many bad ratings, so don't let them fool you. This show teaches word skills, such as spelling, & reading (how to sound out words) in a fun and imaginative way by incorporating really catchy songs and likable characters.

As a Mom, I LOVE this show and don't feel bad letting my 2 yr old watch it. It's certainly better than a lot of kid shows out there and I know she's actually learning while watching.

All I can guess is that those posting the negative reviews do not have kids and don't know what quality kid programming is. There is no reason this show should have such a low rating and I find it unfortunate that it has occurred.

If you are looking for a quality show for your child, check out Wallykazam!

Best kids show on TV
amandawoods713 February 2015
I'm really not sure why people are leaving such negative reviews, either about the content of the show or about the animation. I believe the animation is about as top notch as you can get. As far as the show content, this is a fantastic way for preschoolers to learn about letter sounds, combination of sounds, and sounding words out. The stories are engaging and frankly, the music is rather sophisticated. If they came out with a wallykazam CD, I would probably buy it for myself. In short, this is quality television that you don't have to feel guilty for letting your preschooler watch. Actually, I'm rather miffed if I'm too busy for it. If you need a recommendation, my 4 year old boy requests this show over other, flashier shows 100% of the time.

Engaging characters and catchy tunes
kaingo4 November 2014
This show is great. My four year old loves it, and my husband and I both enjoy watching it with her. The characters are engaging, the songs are catchy, and the possibility for real learning occurs!

There is something for everyone - Wally Trollman, the main character who solves problems using his magic stick and words that start with the letter of the day; Norville, Wally's best friend who is also a dragon; Gina Giant, a giant who enjoys tea parties and picnics; Bob Goblin, a lovable troublemaker who is a great dancer; Ogre Doug, an ogre with a wide variety of pets; and Libby Light Sprite, a lively, gregarious sprite with the ability to write in light. I wish there was at least one more regular female character, but that is my only complaint. At least there are 2 out of 6. Only one of the 6 dogs in Paw Patrol is a female.

I really can't understand how the ratings for this show are so much lower than Paw Patrol and Bubble Guppies. Paw Patrol borders on annoying (though my daughter likes it) and Bubble Guppies defies physics every episode! Why do they need stairs when they swim? :)

Wallykazam is quality children's programming.

The only show my son will watch.
joe-trottier13 September 2014
This show is fantastic. It's funny at times and has some catchy tunes. The graphics are on par with the computer generated kid shows of today.

My son doesn't watch much TV, but when he does, it has to be this show. He loves it and dances to the songs. The method they use to teach words, letters and phonetics is clever and engaging.

I really don't understand the low rating that it has currently (3/10). It almost seems like there are false reviews appearing? There are definitely incoherent ones, and it makes me believe that the show was just targeted by some people who were bored and wanted to see ratings get affected by their efforts.

If you're truly a parent and want to know if this show is worth watching, then ignore those other reviews.

I work on the show
Dschier-176-9959523 December 2014
Why would an 'insider' write a review? Well, we work in a bit of a vacuum and I went on here to see what people think of the show. I've worked on the show since Season 1 (we're working on 2, presently). It's been harder to gage how well our show is doing than anything that I've worked on prior for some reason. Reading the majority positive reviews is actually quite heartening. I just want assure parents (I'm one too) that the show works harder than you might imagine to hit all the right notes for the demographic. It's nice to read people react positively to a show that feels like it has been flying below the radar. Thanks for the support on something we spend a lot of time crafting.

This show is brilliant!
artsarkis3325 February 2015
This show is fantastic. Educational yet fun., very different than all the same stuff that's out right now. It has great characters (love Bobgoblin), catchy songs, and educational content. The stories focus on problem solving, kindness, and friendship, but also includes phonics, early reading, and letter recognition. It keeps the educational aspect of the show front and center while still being entertaining. The visuals are colorful and engaging, the voice acting is spot on and the music is great; the characters are smart, funny and engaging, as are the stories. I hope this is one series that keeps going. The creator of this show is brilliant!and honestly teaches words that sometimes I didn't even know! ;)Go WALLY!

Wallykazam is a GREAT learning show
kgoeken-237-53231112 February 2015
This show has gotten unfairly poor ratings. It is a wonderful show that is teaching my son to speak. He has Apraxia, which makes speech is very difficult for him. This show is paced at a speed where children can actually follow what is being said and learn the material without watching it over and over and over. That being said, you won't mind watching it again and again. It is magical, creative and fun. I usually despise programming for kids but this is a winner for sure. It teaches kids to treat people with decency and acceptance without cramming morality messages down their throats. I REALLY hope they make more seasons of this show.

a troll and his friends teach children about grammar and sounding out words
bischplease10 December 2014
my daughter loves this. she is 2.5, autistic, and non-verbal. we work on sounds and words with her on a daily basis...and this show helps out a lot paired with her therapy sessions. wallykazam teaches children how to sound out words, rhyming words, words that start with both the same letter AND sound..as well as teaching them to use their imaginations. she uses the app which is just as good. as for the one bad review here, this show teaches kids to use their imaginations. the main characters are a giant, a troll, a pixie, and an ogre with a semi-talking dragon...and a yeti and a goblin. you go ahead and stick with your talking sponge, talking dogs, and mermaids. at least our kids will benefit from the educational value of this show.

One of the best shows for toddlers
amsprich3 December 2014
This is a great show. We love Bobgoblin! As a parent, I like how imaginative it is. I enjoyed the flying sandals and pizza eating puppets. I love how they put different words together; sometimes they rhyme other times they might be synonyms. I can't believe anyone would give this show a bad review. My son is only 15 months and loves it. This, along with bubble guppies, are the only shows he'll watch. Even my 7yr old daughter loves watching it with him. My wife and I can't wait for the toys! I think Nick has nailed it with Wallykazam, Bubble Guppies, and Paw Patrol. I really wish there were more shows of this quality. Disney is way behind in my opinion.

Kids' favorite
MovieSuz13 November 2014
I am a pro nanny having worked with many families. Wallykazam has been a favorite in all of those households with kids between the ages of 2 1/2 and 6. WAllykazam offers life lessons coupled with great reading lessons and best of all (at least for me!) really cool music! The kids anxiously await each episode and love all the characters with Bob Gobblin being their favorite.

No violence, no sexism, no racism, no giggling at potty words, just good scholastic teaching packaged in a very entertaining programming. One of the few children's shows I allow the kids to watch unsupervised. (Thank you Nick Jr.) I would love to see CDs released of the music and perhaps more frequents airings.

My daughter's favorite show
msbcarnahan17 January 2015
Wallykazam is educational and fun! The artistry is different than most shows and the music is catchy. I won't let my daughter watch something I can't tolerate ;), so this is entertaining for adults too. We love Wally! (And bobgoblin, Gina giant, ogre Doug, norville, Libby light sprite, even Stan of the swamp!) I love that it teaches while it entertains. One of my fondest memories is that this was the first show that my baby girl laughed at all on her own and found it funny in her own little way. It was the Great Wishing Potato, she found bobgoblin's antics hilarious. This is one of the only shows my niece and daughter agree on when they're at grandmas house. I created an IMDb account just so I could write this review. I do not understand the low rating but have a hunch it is NOT from the demographic this show it attempting to reach. Keep up the good work!

Made me laugh. Great voices.
jessicasplanet00019 September 2014
I just turned on the TV and this show was on. First time I just started laughing at a kids show. I like that they don't have that sing-song "Dora Explorer" delivery and the humor was great. So was the animation. If I were a kid, I totally watch it. (Shhhhh....I'm going to watch it anyway.)

The colors are great and so are the voices. I like that they use kids and adults to voice the characters, and humor that parents and kids can laugh at. So it's not just educational, it's fun and creative and makes you laugh.

I have no idea why they only have a few stars. I think this my new favorite kids show!

Great show!
cosmos882000-107-72236414 September 2014
This is a great show! Both of my kids love it. My 2 1/2 year old runs around talking like Bobgoblin all day long, it's too funny. And my 7 month old gets upset if its not on, the only other cartoon she likes is Paw Patrol but clearly not as much as Wally. I can't understand why anyone is giving this show such low ratings, it's much better than a lot of the other crap cartoons out there. Wallykazam is great to help Kids learn their letters, sound out words, and eventually spell. Oh and I can't forget to mention the songs in this show are fabulous! I constantly have them stuck in my head...but it's not a bad thing since they are actually really good songs.

Great show for little ones!
jessica-kile24 November 2014
My son is in love with this show. He started watching at about 18 months and I think he will be able to enjoy this show until at least 3, if not older. He doesn't watch a lot of TV so any time we are winding down before a nap or bed we watch this and he just loves it. He dances to the songs and I love that it is educational and not absolute crap. I watched some of the other cartoons out there and won't let him watch them. Wallykazam is the only cartoon for our house. He is learning letters, words, rhyming, etc. I like that the show has an actual purpose. The graphics aren't amazing but as long as my son loves it, that is all we care about. We can't wait for season 2!

Wallykazam
aliohpntz18 February 2015
This show is actually really cute while being educational at the same time. The characters are unique and interesting and the graphics are well done with bright and eye catching colors. You don't feel like it's the same plot with every episode as the storyline is pretty varied with its cast of unique characters. The theme song is catchy and the songs that are new with each episode are entertaining and fun. It's a show I can watch with my daughter (who just turned 4 years old) without wanting to put earplugs in or begging to change the channel. She is doing really well with the letters and words on this show and I like that it isn't just "single letters" for the day but combinations of letters/sounds so they are really building their vocabulary.

Wallykazam is the most educational show on TV as of now!!!
brewster-geneva6 November 2014
My son will be 2 in January and his cousin will be 3. They both love Wallykazam!! I was shocked to see that this show could possibly have bad ratings. It is very educational, I don't allow them to watch cartoons unless they are educational because it is really a waste of time if they aren't learning something. Every show focuses on a letter which is constantly drilled in as they continue to use different words that begin with that letter. They dance, sing, and teach the children how to be nice, fair, and solve problems. I feel that this show covers a wide range of things children their age should be learning. His cousin has only been watching the show for about a month and is using a lot more words in the right context that aren't common in the shows he is allowed to watch at home.

Great learning fun
terrytravel10120 October 2014
My son is almost 4 He introduced me to this show a few weeks ago. It's great! I love how they are working with words and phonics. He has so much fun answering along and reading. It's fantastic! The characters are fun and engaging. I enjoyed how they will show a word and then change the first letter and have the image change. My son gets a real kick out of this! Like when they changed Cat to Rat to Hat and then the Hat had a cat and a rat in it. My son got a huge kick out of this. We have a few saved on our DVR and he watches them over and over again! I am trying to find the show on DVD now so that he can use it as a learning tool. Keep up the great work on the show! Wish there were more like it!

kids love it
crumpetsfortea12 October 2014
My kids are gripped by this, have watched the same episodes over and over this first week. They are learning the phonetics and repeating and using new words. And getting exercise jumping up and down to the songs...

I think the graphics are bright, simple and fun. The shows have a little bit of morality but not overkill. The characters are kind to each other, sadly in a year or so my kids will probably only watch shows where people beat each other up, so I am very happy for them to watch this.

And bananas riding bicycles etc... Aren't all the best kids' programs a bit surreal? If you want real life, watch the news!! And I don't want to inflict air strikes on a 4 yr old ;-)

Best Toddler/Kids Show Hands Down
miyahanson9 January 2017
Wallykazam is a wonderful show, with terrific characters and inventive plots. Both my 2 year old and 6 year old will not only sit & watch a complete episode, but they answer Wally when he asks a question about words, they sing the opening song and love the music throughout each episode. And they giggle :) I don't have an issue turning the TV on for my children to watch this, as there is never anything inappropriate, there's never any whining, complaining, or negative actions. Even when Bob Goblin is creating mischief, the characters are always kind and thinking of each other. It's an excellent show that encourages problem solving, working together, vocabulary & music - we love Wally! There should be more children's shows like this. Please make more episodes and please make toys & games available!!!

Great songs, characters and learning
belyokoi26 December 2015
My son loves Wallykazam. This show does a great job teaching children using catchy songs, colors and characters. I love Wally and Norville and as a parent I love the show too. I appreciate that the show teaches children as well as entertains them. I hope that there are many more seasons to come. If NickJr would sell stuff animals/ toys and other show items that would be even better :) I have no idea why this show has mediocre reviews. It makes me wonder what some people are looking for in a kids show. I have seen many kid shows and I love Wallykazam! This show teaches the alphabet, sounds, vocabulary, and life lessons like sharing. This show gets two thumbs up from my son and I. Two of my favorite episodes are Young Norville and How to Bathe Your Dragon. These two episodes have great catchy songs. Keep up the great job making a wonderful show like Wallykazam!

My Kid's Favorite Show!
blackopal-429079 April 2016
Being a stay at home mom of two I watch a lot of TV with my kids. My oldest son (2.5 years old) is autistic and this is the only show he will watch. If he could jump into the show and go on adventures with Wally and the gang he would in a heartbeat! He will stop everything he's doing when he hears it come on. His therapist's use this as a reward when he is working during ABA therapy. My daughter (8 months old) loves it just as much. I love that the show actually has depth. It teaches language skills, which is very important for my son who is currently nonverbal. The show is well written and the songs are fun to sing (Yes! I openly admitted to singing the songs on a regular basis!) I even have favorite episodes and characters! I can honestly watch this non stop and not get tired of it. I don't know of any other kids TV shows like this. I'm looking forward to the new episodes.

I normally don't write reviews but I felt it important to share how this show has impacted my family. The fact that this show has such bad reviews on this site is heartbreaking. It is a wonderful show that my family loves dearly.

Helped my son with phonics and reading
a_rarden13 January 2016
My boys love it. My 4yo knew his letters and pronunciation, but we had trouble getting him to actually sound things out and put them together. One week of this show, and he started doing it in his own, first along with Wally, and now he can look at a word we point to in a random book or sign and he uses the same procedure and gets it quite often. My 3yo went from not caring to sounding out words too. As the parent, this is one show I don't mind having on all day...I find it amusing and creative myself.

I don't dislike any characters, like I do with other shows like Blaze or Tickety Tock. There is nothing to dislike about this show.
