A very strong episode, great mystery.

After a wonderful opening scene, we're treated to a wonderful episode, it's a cracking mystery, one where the victim seems such an unlikely candidate.

The outcome comes as a surprise, but it's such a well crafted mystery, with some very well rounded characters, each with motives and secrets, it's well acted.

That opening was impressive, they assembled a very sexy cast, Razza Jaffrey and Daniel Lapaine, and others all really do look the part.

I like the needle between Dwayne and Fidel, this was the turning point for Kris Marshall for me, this was the episode where I began to love the character of Humphrey, silly shirt quirk aside, he was naturally goofy, it wasn't put on. Brilliant.

Well impressed with this, 9/10.

Great fun, but a little odd.

A clever episode, but a little strange. There are odd close-ups which seem jarring and I have to nit-pick over the premise of an aircrew being on the island. We do see the airport a few times over the years and there is never anything to suggest that it is big enough to take transcontinental airliners. We only ever see small short-haul aircraft.

Very intriguing whodunnit episode

I had to write a review basically because I can't believe there isn't one. If you're seeing this episode for the first time believe me you'll be blown away by the ending and reveal of the murderer. I think it's one of the very first episodes of the series I ever saw and became a fan because of how impressed I was. (Only trouble, where I am, is this episode seems to be repeated so often that I'm well and truly over it) But if you've never seen it it's a brilliant, original whodunnit!

Suddenly Saint Marie has jets?
We've seen the Saint Marie airport many times. It is small, with only small commuter turboprop planes. Suddenly it's hosting international jets and their crews? Oh well, it's a good plot otherwise.

Very solvable but tricky mystery.

Warning: Spoilers
This was a very tricky but very solvable mystery. The motor for the murder was reasonable. There were plenty of red herrings all in all of very good and tight script. Well done with good acting. If you are a fan of a good who done it, this is an excellent episode.

Spoiler ahead...

What clued me off to the murderer was when the vile appeared after it was thoroughly searched, the hotel room what transpired, and what changed I asked myself? Well, the murderer had made a play for the dead girls, lover, and then had Been spurned. When his prints showed up on the vile, there was only one person who would want to set them up the murderer. To me, it was that obvious that she had known he was having an affair with the dead girl and she had lied when she said she didn't.

Fun, but not like it was in the previous seasons.

Warning: Spoilers
There is not doubt: the third season of "Death in Paradise" has been underwhelming so far. "Ye of Little Faith" is fortunately the most fun episode since Richard Poole's unfortunate demise, but it's still not great.

Let's start with good, shall we?

. The production values are as always wonderful. The scenery is to die for and the music's catchy. The acting is solid all around. Kris Marshall's getting more better as DI Goodman as the episodes go by.

. The mystery, once it gets going, is fun and there are some interesting characters, red herrings and twists here. Really enjoyed the solution, which was not that surprising ("The Girl on The plane", who arrived day after the murder, did it), but satisfying enough.

But....

. Most of humor falls flat in this episode. Even more than in the previous entry. I do not if the reason behind it is Marshall's acting, which often gets too theatrical- especially at the end- or something else.

. The murder mystery is at first quite uninteresting, but once the plot kicks in ( which takes places on the 15 minute mark), I started to enjoy this entry quite a bit.

. Also, the are some significant plot points -especially the one with the suitcase- that took far too long to figure out.

Overall, a fine day in Paradise.

6,5/10 HK
