Does 15/16-yo Katie live by herself?
epharris530 July 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Maybe I missed it, but haven't seen any of Katie's family concerned about her whereabouts and activities!.

The acting is very good. Music and cinematography are very good. The pace of episodes is a bit slow, as others have pointed out, and the story is not new or groundbreaking, as others have noted.

***********Spoiler Why are Stella and team not aware that a counselor visited Brawley? It seems they'd be informed of all visitors.

Unsure about high reviews

Warning: Spoilers
Unsure why this show is so highly rated, it's not bad but it's not groundbreaking, it's pretty slow, bar the accents and GA and my fifty shades I'm struggling to get it,i liked season 1 except finale and liked episode 1 of s2 but it's back to poorly written nonsense, I mean GA was vile to the poor husband even knowing it was her fault and the later interaction with her friend and second potential lesbian dalliance was odd, the fact everyone finds her irresistible is silly. This was first episode she was off and I didn't enjoy her performance. The killer, no motive, no continuity, making basic errors and randomly philosophical its just all over the place, still don't know why...

The stuff with the kid to, tbh after what she said can't get why he'd let such a loose end live, mental! Too many glaring plot holes coupled with under developed characters and slow progression is killing it for me, so far shows about a 6 but dropping fast. They need to flesh out these pointless characters with some meat, my best guess at this point was he is her son, hating career women for him being abandoned and she's slept around in Ireland so never know other than that no real clue

Also the boss is awful, corrupt for a reason we don't fully know, needlessly obvious with overreacting and all round terrible actor with poor nonsensical decision making. Awful character

Charming how?
dierregi7 December 2022
Warning: Spoilers
The weirdest element in this creepy serial killer/cold cop story is how everyone seems to find the Paul character "charming". Even without suspecting anything about him, the guy is constantly arrogant, detached, creepy, dispassionate and behaving in a weird way - to say the least. Always covering his tracks, disappearing at all times of day and night, disrespectful with colleagues and his doormat of a wife and yet women find him irresistible, like the fake blonde bimbo on the train and sl*ttish Katie. About her, I have serious doubts anybody her age would play that sort of game, but maybe it's the arrogance of youth.

Elsewhere, the Belfast police certainly proves to be grossly incompetent and women to be natural born victims, with Rose not even attempting the weakest resistance to being kidnapped from her own home and Annie as trembling gelatine, unable to recognise anything of the man who assaulted her - granted the shock, the darkness, etc... If men are portrayed as either corrupted or murderous (or both), women don't fare any better in this dismal tale.
