I started watching April 1st, 2019 and wow I love this show. But this episode was a real treat. So happy that Prince was alive to do this. May his memory live on for decades! I finished this episode so happy and satisfied with everything that happened. Lol, I'm drunk.

Things happen, and Jess and CeeCee get invited to a party at Prince's... and Nick says I love you. Of course the guys have to wangle their way into the party, with various schemes, meet beautiful people -and Prince helps Jess figure things out. Everyone wins, and then there's singing. Sweet and well done and uses the way many of us feel about the magic of Prince well.

Gotta love it when a mega superstar has a sense of humor. I'm sure he got decent compensation for this appearance, but many stars would never have done this type of episode. Kudos to prince. And ... Purple Rain is an iconic album.

Honestly, I'm leaving this review 75% because the little flashback with Winston had my husband and I laughing for about 2 minutes straight. But there's something magical about having some crazy amazing thing happen in your life by freak chance, and the rest of this episode captures that magic with New Girl's trademark humorous flair. I'm not even all that familiar with Prince, but I liked this episode so much that I stopped everything and looked up who wrote it because I want more of their material in my life. I don't think I've ever even DONE that before.

The greatest rockstar of all time descends from his mighty guitarformed cloud, 2 grace the world of sitcom.
He should've done more stuff like this. People don't realise, but he actually had a great sense of humour.
They cover the ping pong, the pancakes and the wild freakout of people who got near him.
Prince was otherworldly. An untouchable musician, if not a supergreat actor, and what he does in this episode is amazing. I wish he'd been a recurring character from then on. Kinda like a dream-genie purple Yoda, that could've come in once in a while to help solve the characters problems.
It's not hard 2 "Fall in Love 2nite" with this amazing episode!

I really enjoy New Girl, but this episode was terrible. It started with a great plot but once Prince was introduced, it sank. Definitely a jump the shark point in the series. It was just too unbelievable, even for a sitcom. This season has really been a letdown. This episode was the worst of the worst. Something happened this season that I think kills sitcoms all the time and it's always one of two events: a main couple gets together/married and or a baby is introduced. This is almost always a killer for me. The same thing is happening in this show. To be honest, what I think can save the show is a breakup between Nick and Jess. Then maybe give it a couple seasons and then have them get back together to end the show. Anyways, going back to the beginning, this episode sucked. The whole prince segment was painful and uncomfortable. It didn't even make sense to me. That's my rant.
