It seems young Ivy Pepper has taken a growth spurt. Back in June we reported that Clare Foley had been replaced in the role of Ivy Pepper by Maggie Geha (All My Children, Ted 2, In Stereo), who would be playing an older take on the classic Batman villain in season 3 of Fox's Gotham, and now thanks to TV Insider we have our first look at the character. Ivy's transformation will occur after an encounter with one of Hugo Strange's monstrous Indian Hill experiments. Gotham‘s third season is set to debut on Monday, Sept. 19 at 8/7.

'Bread and Butter' movie: Christine Weatherup and Bobby Moynihan. 'Bread and Butter' movie review: Late life virginity and other social anxieties in a funny and awkwardly romantic comedy The first insight of debuting feature film director Liz Manashil is that romantic comedies should actually be funny first and romantic second – if ever. Her film Bread and Butter eventually works its way to a kind of awkward romanticism, but it's always dryly funny; its silliness deftly masked by all manner of understatement and managed execution. The second insight of the screenwriter-director was to populate her funny romance with the kind of people you almost never see in romantic comedies; which is to say people who look like people you might know, who have friends you might have, and who deal with issues less explored and probably more common than we tend to talk about, including social and other anxieties, as well as late life virginity.

'In Stereo' movie review: Witty, sarcastic romantic comedy In Stereo is a particular kind of romantic comedy – the kind full of characters that aren't remotely romantic, that tend more toward wit and sarcasm rather than light or camp comedy (unless it involves someone getting beaten up), and in which things may very well turn out badly for the protagonists, whom we may or may not be inclined to root for or even like. This is my kind of romantic comedy; a little mean and very funny if you prefer wit and sarcasm to fart jokes – as witty and sarcastic people always do. By definition, something that is in stereo comes at you from at least two directions at once – the same yet different – together creating something that is fuller and truer than either of the elements alone. In Stereo, the film,...
