One of the most interesting movies I ever saw
alexeykorovin13 May 2015
This movie is very interesting to watch, I enjoyed every minute of it. Most of what's happening on the screen doesn't make sense, but it didn't bother me really. There isn't much of a plot. In short, there is a desolated factory where something is "guarded" by a 60-something guy with his strange daily routine. And then there are 3 telepathic dwarfs sent there to steal that thing. Thru the whole movie they do some weird preparations and finally in the end do it, or so it should be anyway.

Still giving it a 8 and not 10 because the ending was unexpected and left me puzzled. What was this all about? But definitely this movie has stuff which I haven't seen in any other movie, and it feels very fresh, even innovative.

As boring as disgusting

I'm not sure whether this is the worst movie ever made; but I can say it definitely is the worst movie I've watched to date. Pointless, boring and disgusting. Being a European movie, my guess it is was a mere money-grabbing scheme to siphon culture subsidies.

A brilliant film!
red_rabbit-231-65604112 September 2021
This film is most definitely in my top 5 films ever and I completely understand why some reviewers just don't get it. You don't need to "get it" you just have to be an openminded creative able to soak up a strange story which is not only beautiful, tragic, funny and frightening all at the same time, and that's a difficult artistic vision to bring to life. Like a perfect dream. And while there is never any logic in a dream, this film is FULL of brilliant intelligence, bringing the dream to story form for your mind to wander in. So if you like the creative directors, artists and the art of surreal filmmaking that doesn't rest its "success" on a superhero and a bag of predictable plotlines that don't require your brain... you may like this one. Just the references alone to Joseph Beuys and you know you're in a different place with this film, and that love for understanding the weirdly beautiful is evident in all forms of this piece, from the characters to the "special effects" (especially if you watch the director's earlier film on the DVD special features! Evolution of creativity right in front of your eyes) and the color and composition are absolutely painterly executed.

Truly an artist made film, and most likely will be rejected by many of the masses, as all good things are before they are accepted for their mastery in hindsight. For creativity watch this film and enjoy it just for the experience. It is only the "worst film ever" to people who don't know that there is another side of the film world which creates ART, not TV dinner material, and misconstrue that they should be appreciated differently for different reasons, one to escape thinking, another to enlighten it. This is for those who want to escape to a smarter place in someone else's beautifully twisted and poetic vision. A poem on film, and you don't criticize a poem because "raven's can't speak, stupid!"

Abhorrent movie
zomgmeister24 January 2015
Warning: Spoilers
The worst movie I saw, and I saw a lot of bad movies. It is ugly, boring and stupid. Nothing even remotely interesting happens on screen. Characters are disgusting, their activities are vomit-inducing. Portrayal of Siberia in February is typical for subtropical country denizens, who do not know what *winter* IS.

Move logic is flawed. It was way easier to kill the guardian right away, and to burn and/or hide his body in that desolate place. Scouting from bright orange boat on a lake in gray landscape is not very ninja. I could continue, but that's unnecessary - all that happens on screen is either disgusting or ridiculous. Or both.

Ending is totally lackluster, there are no culmination, characters are empty.

Do not watch this movie under any circumstances. You won't get anything good from it. This movie should be forgotten from existence.
