Continuation of a story that gives some background to the position of the banking clan in the Clone Wars and shows some intensity in the relationship of Anakin and Padme. Small bits of fleshing out of the story which are not essential but are quite decent added touches.

There is a good punch up between Anakin and Clovis and some nice scenes adding extra depth to Anakin's feelings.

Solid episode.

My rating: 8/10.

Warning: Spoilers
I'm usually not a huge fan of episodes heavy on politicking and plotting, but in this case the turgidity of the whole Banking Clan corruption storyline actually served as a really effective backdrop for the real centrepiece of the episode, Skywalker's final explosion into a jealous rage at seeing the insipid Clovis trying to put the moves, yet again, on his beloved Padmé.

"The Clone Wars" has featured many an epic battle, from star-fighter dogfights to lightsaber duels to gritty bounty hunter shoot 'em ups, but few have compared in passion and intensity with the bare-knuckle brawl between the Jedi "Chosen One" overcome by pain and jealousy and his (secret) wife's suitor. Kudos to the voice director and animators for bringing both that scene to gripping life, and also the heart-rending breakup sequence that followed.

The (not) Force Unleashed

Better than the previous episode for a few reasons.

I always figured Obi-Wan knew about Anakin's secret love for Padmé. Seeing that addressed in this, while brief, was pretty effective and a bit eye-opening.

The duel between Anakin and Clovis was pretty well directed and acted. Seeing little bits of Anakin going ham on people and using his anger to get things done is something we never saw enough of in this show. Was definitely not expecting a break-up either.

Good drama and really well acted and directed.

Fair Warning-episode may disturb some viewers

Warning: Spoilers
The Clovis arc is a fairly interesting look at how the Sith slowly close the loop on the banking clan and take control. Once again they're planning three steps ahead, but of course they have the advantage of running both sides. Palpatine's wise grandfather act is very effective-the late Ian Abercrombie was so good at playing the two sides of this character.

In this episode, Anakin shows how truly unhinged he is. He does it by accusing Padme of cheating on him and then violently beating up a creep who was forcing himself on Padme, so no one to root for in this mess except Padme. Anakin is a walking red flag and it is disturbing to see how he treats Padme out of "love." It may explain how he became Vader, but that doesn't make it any easier to watch her treated this way. For anyone who has dealt with or witnessed partner abuse, this might be a tough watch.
