There's Someone Sneaking, 'Round the Corner

So there is more investigation going on at the Academy. It's now spring break and Kyle is on his own for a few days. The Colonel invites him over for dinner. They talk about their unfulfilled pasts as children of harsh, unyielding parents. One of the cadets stand hidden outside as he leaves her house. More harsh news is found out about it the family that was killed. It was no bed of roses. Meanwhile, Holder is slipping. He starts drinking and being abusive. He embarrasses himself at his sister's house. This marriage doesn't look promising. Reddick is put off for the time being. Our heroes are starting to sink. I'm wondering if the last season is being put to rest with some serious implications. I have to say that one of the reasons I've stayed loyal to this series is that Linden and Holder are so interesting, such multidimensional character traits, but right now, they are really off the trodden path. I'm curious to see how the rest of this plays out.

Linden as a detective

Linden does have empathy and she does seem to feel a lot. But I feel like she crosses boundaries and has none with victims wether she thinks they are hiding something or they aren't the victim. Always trying to get straight to what happened. Kyle has amnesia and she said twice she doesn't think he did it but because he didn't mention his friend she drags him out the car shouts at him and he even throws up when she tells him about where and how they died. She then says again not long after it after it she doesn't think he did it again for a third time so why be so harsh? She knows he remembers nothing of that night yet pushed for info he wouldn't have known? It's not out of character for her but I think she felt bad afterwards but still continues to do it. Which wouldn't help when the cases went to court. Holden is kind of the same and he's my favourite character but I feel like he doesn't do it as much as her or so harshly. I get these characters are so flawed but still could handle it better as it's not like a lot of them are criminals or have done bad things. Like the girl in season 3 who escaped a killer she done the same thing. I do like their characters. Just that I don't really like. But they are flawed.
