Starting From Now transcends it's web series trappings to offer a heartfelt portrait of four flawed but good people who navigate the uncertainty of feelings and love. Watching the production values increase with each season was a great pleasure as you could tell that it was finding it's voice and its audience. You stop thinking of them as lesbians and just as people who are simply trying their best, with the messiness of relationships being genuinely portrayed.
Sarah De Possesse is superb in the lead role and was my favourite performance out of everyone. Her handling of emotionally traumatic situations is one of the finest parts of the show. Having obviously been made as a passion piece, the series manages to never look cheap and stale and makes the most of its limited resources to come out the other end with a compelling story with well rounded characters.
