It's gettin' nasty in the Grayson mansion!

To paraphrase Daniel, an episode without Charlotte is a gift to the universe.

The most fun I have had in a loong time

(Kind of) showing Emily's true colors to the Graysons was the smartest thing to do to the show. It has given them another rhythm. Even though Patrick and Daniel could improve their acting skills, the plot as a whole was so much fun - so much that even Margaux became a little bit more interesting by showing some spine. Even Niko and Aiden were somehow relevant, making me intrigued. I am honestly interested to see how that will unfold (in small doses, of course).

But the best of all was to see Madeleine being the great actress she is. We had not seen these contrasts since season 1. What a great actress! This is obviously not a show to be taken serious, but she performs and draws you in. If only her found son had been at her level.

The changes in Emily's condition might or might not work. So far it seems like they will, but we can never tell after that messy season 2 that we just can not forget.

I guess I'm enjoying to see this as the soapy fun it was meant to be- and I guess that that cliffhanger a la "Dinasty" could be an indication of where the show is going and the devices it will fully embrace. (I can't wait to see the mess the house is going to be after the break)

Hatred
studioAT1 June 2020
Warning: Spoilers
As with the last episode, there's a sense of refocusing here, as the show moves into the 2nd half of S3.

It's an episode bolstered by wonderful performances by Madeleine Stowe (Victoria) and Josh Bowman (Daniel), who manage to make all the twists/changes in their characters credible.

It was a risk to have Emily's plan fail, but the fallout from it should hopefully provide some interesting developments moving forward.

where's Christa?

I see by the other review here, a confirmation that some people really go for this, as I surmised. The show couldn't have lasted so long without a solid fan-base. With my regular postings here, I'm pretty sure I must rank as a staunch critic of the show. But just like this Other Reviewer, I am also aware of the glitz and the glamor and the thrills and the fun. It's just that, as is the way with network television, the project gets handed over to different 'executors', and every scriptwriter adds his or her new flavor, and the whole thing becomes a heady mix, a stew peppered with too much spice, and even this Other Reviewer here refers to the unforgivable Season 2...

Not a show to take serious? Believe you me, this one, the plot unravels as it goes along with the tiger catching it's own tail and gagging on it! If the Graysons were dumb clucks, maybe then, but even then, they'd have had to be very dumb clucks. Point is, somebody like Conrad, and somebody like Victoria, they'd have figured the scheme of things out back in Season One.

Doesn't change the appeal, though. As the Other Reviewer attests.

Everything here is every bit entertaining, make no mistake. I find that Nolan has fizzled out, his quirks now sound flat and without sparkle. The whole thing with Patrick really ruined the character. Okay, that's my opinion. But you won't be able to deny that Gabriel Mann's performance is way, way down.

Emily Vancamp gives a very convincing performance right down to a hunted, cornered look. Her whole mission is in the balance, and her portrayal of bewilderment is something to behold.

Some others are just not in that class. Stephanie Jacobson, as Niko, for one. And, oh, please, I can't say the original Mrs. Grayson is what the already overcrowded show needs.

Hey. Christa, where's Christa? Unlike in the summary provided here by kgv vissers, no sign of Charlotte (I watch on DVD).
