One hell of an episode! SPOILER FREE
Alan_H42 May 2014
This episode was so good. It started slowly but ended epicly. Although i kind of expected what was going to happen in the end of the episode, i really didn't mind it. It's obvious that the next season is going to be big, because Ragnar has a lot on his mind now. After everything that has happened we can only imagine on how good the next season will be.

It saddens me to see such a good show with such low budget. In my opinion this series is better than most of the high budgets out there (which don't deserve that kind of budget). This show deserves a higher budget because it has so much potential to become 'BIGGER'. I'm not saying that it needs to be better, because it's already epic! all i'm saying is that this show deserves to have like at least 3 more seasons and a higher budget to make even more epic.

Thank you history channel for this amazing show and the amazing cast! I hope that one of the Producers is reading this and considering making it bigger than it is now.

I am really excited for the next season, and i can't hardly wait!

Floki's loyalty!!
elo-equipamentos11 January 2018
For about three previous episodes Floki's behavoir was changes without any clear explanation, since at British's land he was quiet and slippery, thus Ragnar was suspicious for so sudden changing, in this final episode on second season he finally came out from the shadows and decided making something in this bloody early day!!!

The Last and Best Episode
claudio_carvalho1 October 2017
King Horit brings his family to Kattegat to celebrate his profitable alliance with Ragnar. Meanwhile he asks Floki to prove his loyalty to him killing someone he likes while plots a scheme with Siggy. Floki gives mushroom to Rollo and to Torstein that is found dead later. While Ragnar is learning to pray with Athelstan, King Horit sets in motion a plan to kill Ragnar, his family and friends.

"The Lord's Prayer" is the last and best episode of the Second Season of "Vikings". Floki is the protagonist of this great episode with his unexpected and surprising attitudes. My vote is nine.

Best. Show. On. Earth. Period.
lbpoland511 May 2014
I can honestly say, hand downs, best TV show ever done. To me and many many others around the world who feel the same, even after watching Game of Thrones since the beginning, once you watch Vikings and it pulls you in, you can't get back into Game of Thrones as much as you used to. That's just one example of its greatness.

Seriously though, once you start watching Vikings from the beginning and watch how it all unfolds, how the characters express their story about themselves and especially the beautiful scenery, you'll be hooked and patiently waiting for the next episode to screen.

The only issue that I have, amongst others around the globe is the fact we now have to wait a whole year to watch season 3. Definitely worth the wait but annoying none the less... Considering I already have nostalgia and it's only been a couple weeks since the Finale.. Already watched the whole season 2 three times since the Finale screened. :(

After reading a view here regarding the show and some of the negatives expressed towards character development of Floki and Siggy for example. All I can think is, this person obviously hasn't watched the series and just skimmed through it, because all those characters are explained and if you actually watch it, you'll see it all. All the glances, the intelligent thinking going on by Ragnar behind the scenes and so on. It's all there if you watch it and I really cannot understand why anyone, even the worst critics on this planet could even say one negative about this show.

It has everything, period. Best. Show. On. Earth.

Get it now, you won't be disappointed one bit.

King Ragnar
amongpixels13 January 2021
Warning: Spoilers
"The Lord's Prayer" gives us an exciting conclusion to the season, finally getting to see King Horik taken down! And now Ragnar is king, I guess? So much for Lagertha wanting equality? Anyway, while I did pick that Floki was going to betray Horik, it was still enjoyable to see all the characters surrounding him at the end (particularly Siggy). Athelstan picking up and axe and fighting for Kattegat again was satisfying as hell too.

However, because I was expecting this conclusion, some of the episode felt a little slow to get there. Equally, I'm still just not a big fan of Floki, but perhaps after this he will change for the better. Also, why spare Horik's eldest son? He's clearly going to be a future issue after his whole family is being butchered already. And lastly, while I do enjoy the show a lot, its sort of only half-soap opera style sometimes leaves material to be desired for its characters. Often the show just won't give us an idea of what a lot of the characters are thinking in regards to what's happening around them. At least here though, we get to see that almost all of them hated Horik too. Yay!

Wasting Airtime...
christianhh2 May 2014
Warning: Spoilers
First off, I must say this: Vikings is my favourite show to follow. The characters are diverse, well developed and engaging.

My criticism I think is for the Season 2 Finale and largely aimed at the editors and script writers. I was let down by it... unfortunately...

It seems to me there was significant time wasted making points that had already been made. When Ragnar continues to lay into King Horik's corpse it seems over-long. I had no sense of urgency during the episode, and that disappoints me terribly. What suffered dearly was how the aftermath of King Horik's death set up Ragnar's new position. That point was made in too hurried a manner.

The other part I take issue with, and I point my finger directly at the writers, is the development of the Siggy and Floki plot lines. Floki's sudden turn against Ragnar over the course of the season seemed unexplainable. There seemed to be nothing at all behind it. King Horik tells Floki to kill someone who matters, and Floki looks around for someone to kill, which he "does," but we don't know the truth of it till the end. Siggy's questionable loyalties are also an issue. She's "With" Rollo, but does she have genuine affection for him? Or is he just a means to an end of questionable value. The latter is what I see. Be it the former, I'd like that to be a little more clear. I cannot blame the actors for this. Performances by Jessalyn Gilsig and Gustaf Skarsgard are a big part of the reason I love this story so much. Siggy and Floki are two of the most interesting characters on the show and they deserve better.

I hope my issues with this episode are made arbitrary by a spectacular third season.
