With everyone trying to find their place at work, within a relationship, school, or family, it makes sometimes not getting what you want, or think you deserve, difficult.

Warning: Spoilers
This was a very interesting episode since, for one, Callie got to meet her sister and see the way she lives; Lena had to deal with some possible issues due to her being pregnant; and of course there is the back burner drama featuring the twins. But, as always, with every bit of progress one family member makes, it means a new obstacle arises.

Topic 1: The Family I Never Knew – Callie & Jude

With Callie scheduled to meet, officially, with Robert and Sophia, she has a bit of anxiety. After all, Robert comes from money, has put her through so much to get adopted, stalked her, gave this note from his daughter, and claims he didn't know of her existence. Which, all together, leads Callie to trying to justify getting out of this meeting, like by talking with Jude for example. But, from what it seems, all this conversation with Jude does is make him feel a bit disconnected from Callie for now he realizes he is her half-brother, and as much as he gets along with the Fosters, you can see he is still sort of an outsider in a way. So with this disconnect form Callie, and Connor to a point as well, Jude decides to go silent as a means to cope.

As for Callie and the Quinn family, needless to say it made for an awkward visit. Robert talks about Callie's mom as if she was the love of his life and his family basically arranged him to marry his current wife; Sophia you can see doesn't have friends as much as she has tasks put before her; and with Robert seeing Callie as the last means of having something of Callie's mom, I still believe he is going to fight for her. But, what is most important here is Callie getting to know where she comes from, something which affects Stef, who took her to the Quinn's compound, later on.

Topic 2: The Respect I Deserve – Jesus and Mariana

Despite Jesus seeming like he was going to make Haley his girlfriend, he hasn't really followed up on his promise to call. This naturally doesn't sit well with Mariana for not only is Haley one of the few people who talk to her on the dance team, but she doesn't want her brother to turn into one of those guys. So, she tells Jesus he will call her and with Haley coming over the two hookup again, non-sexual this time, and during this meeting they agree to keep their relationship private, for differing reasons.

Bringing the focus back to Mariana, with one of the girls getting kicked since apparently the code of excellence actually is observed, unless you're Caitlin, it means rushed dance try outs. With this, Mariana is forced to relive the gossip that she only made the team because she is Latina. Something which leads her to say things which sound prejudice. Like with this Black girl named Tia who beats out Jenna, who Mariana beat to get on the team. In Mariana's mind, Tia is being picked over Jenna, Caitlin's friend, because she is Black and the team wants diversity. But everyone, including Caitlin, say that isn't the case.

Leading to Haley revealing the true reason Mariana is on the team: Lena. For, you see, with Vico leaving the school, so did his parent's funding, and with Lena as interim principal, having Mariana on the team made for a good insurance policy so Lena wouldn't cut the dance program. But, as you can imagine, this explanation on why she is on the team isn't that much better than the last one.

Topic 3: The Silver Linings in Disappointments - Lena

With Lena being interim principal for a while, and the teachers liking her, you'd think she easily would become principal permanently. Thing is, as much as the teachers have power through being the search committee, there is still the board who has final say. So while Lena does impress the teachers, even with Timothy bringing up her pregnancy, it seems Corina's legacy has permanently tainted Lena. Making it so her dreams of returning the school to its original mission statement didn't beat a corporate outsider who could bring in money to the school

So, as you could imagine, Lena is upset. Especially with Timothy for bringing up her pregnancy during the interview. But there is a silver lining to all this. For one, now if she decides to take an extended maternity leave it is OK. And, with her questioning Timothy's integrity, and really getting to him, his attempts to assert himself in the child's life seem to have ended for he signs the anonymous sperm donor form. But, with Stef seeing how not having access to a birth parent has affected Callie, she, of all people, decides maybe they should involve Timothy in the kid's life. Otherwise, there maybe this feeling that there is a missing piece to her (the kid is revealed to be a girl) in which Lena can't fully explain why things are going on with her that only Timothy can. And while Stef was the one against Timothy from the beginning, it sadly seems we may be seeing more of Timothy in the future as they come to accept he has to play some role in their daughter's life.

Things To Note

Apparently it has been 6 months since Lena and Stef got Jude and Callie

It seems, officially, Brandon and Callie have moved on. Especially since Callie and Wyatt have said "I love you" to each other and I think that eventually will be on the horizon for Lucy & Brandon.

There is 0 mention of the party and the broken front window for some reason.

Emma visits Jesus, and I fear she is pregnant.
