Arrow's Master Stroke
farooq-yousaf15 May 2014
It was the first time in my life that I was waiting for a series finale so anxiously. I wasn't expecting a lot to happen in the finale except the usual Hero vs Baddie fight. Yet the way the episode's screenplay was written and executed made it one of the best episodes of any series I have seen on TV. I think the final scene will shape up how things go on in the next season and it explains a whole lot of background on Ollie's return. Yet, the way both the seasons have lived up to expectations, I am sure the third season would also be at par with the first two. I can safely conclude the finale in the following words:

Emotions, Action, Fast Pace and above all, an amazing Climax!

"You helped me become a hero"
cousbrojs15 May 2014
Warning: Spoilers
The stakes were high, the stage was set and the end was near. This episode lived up to the hype and absolutely delivered. But I can't give this episode a bang on 10/10. Here's why: (spoilers ahead)

-This episode did not hold up against season 1's finale. Remember when Oli couldn't save Tommy? Remember how emotional that was and how much of a cliffhanger it left us with? That's where season 2 failed. Delivering that shock-emotional factor. Sure, Quentin's bloody mouth scene with Laurel was a little shocking, but there was no huge impact. Even the episode before, where Sebastian Blood did a complete u-turn and went from being a minor villain to a knight in shining armor afterwards was unforeseen. And when Moira was killed, that was powerful. I know it sounds like I hate the finale, which I don't. I'm saying I wish there was some sort of resonate emotion. But either than that, that's all I didn't like. Now onto what I loved!

++THE ACTION SEQUENCES! Wow, Out of all the 46 episodes, this episode delivered action sequences people only see on the big screen. And I mean it. The opening action sequence, the first confrontation, tunnel fight, island brawl and the final climactic battle all delivered in purely stunning fashion. The choreography was brilliant and the camera work (especially on the final fight) was done absolutely perfect. I loved it.

+The pacing was very well done, it moved along nicely and everything felt right. Nothing felt out of place and there was enough time for dialogue and action as well.

+I also had some really neat twists in this episode. And I'm sure, everybody lost their minds when Oliver confessed his love for Felicity, but then it was shattered when it was all part of the plan, which was smart. Even the bit where Amanda Waller told Diggle that he had a son felt right, even if it seemed to be shoehorned. I think that leaves the door open for season 3 story arcs for my main man Diggle :D

+And finally, Oliver Queen. His character has come a long way since the pilot episode. The first season dealt with Oliver seeking justice from his Dad's book. Which meant killing was a necessity to find the truth. But in season 2, he needed to be more than a vigilante who seeks justice with a large body count. He needed to be a hero. Which meant no more killing. And in the end, he succeeds in spades, or shall I say, 'Slade' (corny as hell right). The fact that Oliver didn't kill Slade shows that. And I also think Slade will be back, depending on the writers. I loved how this depiction of Oliver Queen is slowly becoming more like the Oliver Queen from the comics, and not resembling with Batman. Love it!

*Action: Perfect *Acting: Amazing *Pacing: Amazing *Drama: Good *Story: Amazing

What can I say? This episode was so good, all it needed was an emotional touch. But overall, I loved it! But now with Thea gone, and Sarah passing on her jacket to Laurel, it seems things will be different in season 3. And I can't wait!

Episode Rating: 9/10 (My opinion, not yours)

Best show ever

Warning: Spoilers
Arrow is surprising me in this season with a lot of cliff hangers and exhilarating actions. This episode had by far the best action in the whole series, while the flashbacks of Oliver and Slade fighting on the Amazo coinciding with the fight in the present was a high point of the episode

The Felicity and Oliver angle will definitely be explored in the coming 3rd season but the thing i'm waiting for is how Oliver will react on knowing Thea is with Malcolm Merlyn and the fact that he is alive. Roy's future also will be revealed how he will tackle the Thea situation.

Season 2 has changed my viewpoint of Arrow from a 8 rating to a 10 rating now, So i'll request you all to reconsider your rating for the show as 8.2 is not justified :)

The Journey is Complete
SpideyVerse2319 January 2023
Warning: Spoilers
This episode completes Oliver's development from a vigilante to hero which started in the first season.

This episode gave the main three, Oliver, Felicity and Diggle their time to shine in taking down the threats to their city.

Oliver is faced with a choice of whether to kill Slade or not after he kidnaps the two women he loves.

Meanwhile Diggle and Lyla handle Waller and try to stop her from bombing Starling City with help from an old friend.

The acting and the emotional moments landed perfectly with this episode concluding many arcs which started long ago.

The action sequences are just superb, with Slade and Oliver's present day and flashback fight blending in very nicely.

Overall, it was a great finale to the fantastic season 2 of Arrow.

The peak episode
Supersmashbro6942021 May 2023
So the season 1 finale was great but it was mostly focusing on trying to disarm the bomb and others trying to escape the earthquakes while Oliver only fought Merlyn for a few minutes. Even so that finale was great, but come on. This episode was just too good. For a finale it was so much. There was teo fights between team arrow vs team deathstroke. And then Arrow fought Deathstroke BY HIMSELF and the transitions between the present-time fight and the flashback oliver vs slade was epic. Also the ending scenes were not too bad and you can tell that the next season will be very different and even so, this episode was unexpected, especially when Sara decided to get Nyssa for help. I think another twist was that Slade didn't just kidnap Laurel, but Felicity as well. Another great part was when Diggle infiltrated ARGUS and released Deadshot and Tiger to convince Amanda Waller not to bomb Starling City. Deadshot is one of my favorite characters from Arrow, making this better than it should. I do feel like they should have left Moira's death for this episode, but that would just be a ripoff of Tommy's death. The flashbacks in this episode were still really good, I've always enjoyed them ever since season 1. This episode is a banger, and season 2 is already better than season 1.

OK, but nothing new

Warning: Spoilers
Yes, I find this show entertaining. Yet, I hadn't seen anything so full of stereotypes and clichés in a long time. Everything about this chapter seems to be a copy of Xena, Warrior Princess and her dilemma of killing or not killing Callisto. In fact both bad guys end up chained in the most secure prison ever (It didn't take long for Callisto to scape, we can bet that Slade will too). It is an old dilemma, the one about heroes stopping evil no matter the consequences, even if that means destroying their own soul. In Xena there is a great reflexion about the right of Callisto of getting revenge from Xena for destroying her childhood. In this case, we have this situation softened by the illusions produced by the mirakuru. Also, the fact that in the end Xena lets Callisto drown in the sand creates a far more interesting situation than the fact that Arrow defeats Slade without killing him and therefore becomes a great hero. As Xena showed us, there is a great contradiction in hero's adventures. You want to get peace but you do try to bring it with war and violence, while if you don't face your enemy there is no hope either. What is more important is that Xena doesn't try to get to an absolute conclusion about this fact, it accepts its contradictory essence, while in Arrow everything feels right at the end of the season. Despite the apparently superficiality of some of the chapters of Xena, in the end the series is far more adult. Real heroes suffer from war, they know that and they keep fighting. Arrow's dark past is derisory compared with Xena's. I hope that next season they make a less teen-like plot.

Are you kidding me?

Warning: Spoilers
Firstly, I've decided to not write any review for this show, but I was so frustrated when I saw the season finale, that I have to write this, even though no one will consider, because nobody with a bit of brain is watching this series anymore.

This is the most incoherent TV series ever. This season started with the league of shadows threatening Starling, but then Slade appeared, and at the end Ral's al Gul allies with Oliver to destroy Slade. Why??? Just why? and How??? Nyssa's only mission was to get Sarah back. Now she allies with Oliver to destroy Slade. Of course this happened because Oliver need help and writers decided to change the story again, like they did it so many times during this season. It just doesn't feel right to have the two stories both on island and in the city being at the same time(in the second year of Oliver on them). This just shows how made up on the way was this show, changing the story all the time during the season.

Let's get to what happened in the season. When Oliver first encountered the mirakuru guys he was just overwhelmed by them. He couldn't even fight them, or hurt them. Then at the end when he and Nyssa faced them, they were fighting just like ordinary men, and hitting like normal people before getting the cure. Really? Yet after that we see detective Lance being hit pretty bad by one of them. I understand that the writers must make this fight interesting, but it just breaks the laws that were applied during the season, and made the writers contradict themselves, for I don't know how many time... but yeah it's a good show. How stupid can anyone be to say this? Another thing is the predictable choice every time in this season, Oliver was in the situation of choosing. Was that all because of what he choose on the island? It's just lame. Next, Oliver sees Sarah drowning just like he did in the first season, but shouldn't he think that she might be still alive? Yet in the second season, he was sure that she was dead. Another stupid thing was the battle between Oliver and Slade at the end on the island, again breaking every logical law of the season so far, because when Oliver was hit by Slade he wasn't even hurt or thrown meters in the air, because yeah it had to be an even fight. Then Slade gets caught in that iron debris that he could get off? Really? Wasn't he super-strenghted guy with mirakuru injected, but he couldn't scape those iron bars, because, yeah, it had to be a way for Oliver to be placed in yet another situation of choosing between two things. Next, shouldn't the cure arrows not penetrate the men from Slade's army just like normal arrows did? since the head of the arrows were bent by the power of the soldiers, the arrows weren't even hurting them. What is it special to the injection arrows, if they even have a needle on the head? Am I supposed to buy this? Am I that stupid Grag Berlanti??? Next, when the fight between team Arrow+Nyssa and Slade's army starts, Roy seems to draw the bow just as good as Oliver. How does he knows that? When did he learned that? Oliver only taught him to control his anger not to draw a bow. A suggestion for the writers, if you want to make anything good in the future, try not to contradict yourselves, while writing the screenplay. Another contradiction was that the cure on Roy, made him good again, but on Slade, he remained bad, why? Just because he was the bad guy the whole season, or because he hated Oliver? By the way the hate came from mirakuru, so when that was gone shouldn't be the hat gone too? Just another contradiction. How can the writers don't see this, are they that stupid? Don't they have a logic or something like that? Anyway in the end, Oliver get's back to the island of course. And then in the flashback we see him in Hong Kong, with Amanda. I'm guessing that in the 3rd season some other guy with an army will come around and help Oliver in the present, and then at the end of season 3 Oliver and him would have met on the island. This just shows how made up on the way is this show made. And one more thing, if almost every episode in the season is different from the others, please just don't show that "previously on Arrow" or "My name is Oliver Queen" thing, is just stupid.

Anyway I had enough with this stupid series. It's now worth getting angry every time I see it, that's why this was the last episode I've seen. Goodbye Arrow, and good riddance!

PS: Note! The Flash is gonna be just as lame, so for those who seek a good series to watch, try anything else!

wrong language in Hong Kong , yet again
hkpuppy19 October 2014
Warning: Spoilers
Good episode. nice twist at the end. and every episode makes Felicity more likable and make Oliver more annoying, so stubborn! and also i don't like that when the League of Assassins came back to help. i rather The Flash come back to help. because it simply does not make sense .

however i really hate it when people are using the wrong language as background when that scene supposed to be in another country!!

Hong Kong does not use simplified Chinese, and at the end its shown everywhere and make it looks like Shanghai . pls do some serious research before making the background come on!! its really an insult for the local people! for this i give this episode a 3

Tedious Dull Unbearable
bobbybits18 May 2014
This show needs a complete rehash. If it plans to stay on air. There is no point in watching it unless your are some spotty teenager who has adolescent family issues, when fantasising about imaginary superhero friends. This shows only formula is to keep all Brady's together happy when playing out their family themes altogether as superheroes in their weekly pantomime soap Opera.

What should have been an epic season ending, a battle against an epic villain. Was nothing more then a confounding mess of stupidity.

The only real season bonus, the mum died along the way. Hurray one less Brady theme to suffer. Sadly not, quickly replaced by a Dad who should have been dead. Useless characters who should have been eliminated, in any other episodes. Those themes will remain as constant for this under aged market.

Did we lose anymore of his merry band of vigilantes? Sorting the wheat from the what is use by dated chaff. No they will get that fat paycheck for another season of pantomime. A show with more Brady time they any actual crime.

Dull more than ever tediously on looking forward to next season with all the same stupid faces and their girl friend swapping gorilla tactics. Sadly more so when the League of Assassins, is signing up to the Hood's presumptions. In coming back from the dead to provide so more family issues.

Do us all a favour by cancelling this crap show. Providing a chance for a genuine superhero caper where good and evil battle without any constraint from soap opera pantos. Not afraid to kill the useless characters providing real action, not the above comments.

0 out of 10 don't watch this show, if your not that little Tweenie.
