Impressing but...

When a horror movie is made there should be an old mansion and a new owners too it's been a cliche for more than 5 decade. Ashok plays a writer who move to his father's old bungalow from there he faces many negative energies attacks. The crew didn't a decent explanation for the ghost attacks and strange things happening there even though the tail end climax was unpredictable and shocking too

A definite watch if you are looking for some tension-gripping fantasy thriller

Movies have no boundaries or languages. If the movie is gripping and will keep you engaged till the end, I put the movie into the bucket list of good movies. Pizza 2: Villa was just right dose of medicine I needed to get away from the fever of stressful life.

After his father's demise, a writer moves into the Villa which is the only property left for him in Vizag. However, strange things began to take place which reveals his past as well as future.

First time director Deepan Chakravarthy does a fabulous work in holding the attention of audience right from the beginning. Once you are into the movie, the chilling and haunting background score along with to-the- details-captured camera work gels well with the mood of the film. The movie does take some time to ponder on you but once it does , tension creates more hysteria. Cinematography is outstanding. Art direction is nice. Kudos for visually appealing CGI. On the flip side, the performance by lead stars Ashok Selvan was not upto the mark. He emoted wooden expression throughout the film. Sanchita Shetty was mediocre.

Overall, a definite watch if you are looking for some tension-gripping fantasy thriller. Good 3 /5

Classic example of good concept, bad execution Warning: Spoilers
The horror genre is really still in its toddler stage in Indian cinema. Most horrors made, are either remakes of Hollywood films, or just rather mellow. I understand that people in India can't handle anything too horrible, and like cough syrups served with sweets, its absolutely essential that horrors need to be slow, direct and coated with sweet.

That's exactly what Pizza was, which is why we had all the unnecessary footage of the love story, that really had very little to do with the story. Pizza 2, however is a whole other story. Personally, I was hoping for it to take off with the supernatural twist its predecessor left off with, and in a way it was more to do with a supernatural theme, but I'm not too sure if it was a good one.

This is a classic example of good concept, poor execution. Perhaps the director decided he needed to go extra slow to have people keep up; in fact he went so slow, it just made the film sort of dull and boring. There were no scary moments like in the first film, and the acting was poor. I didn't connect with any of the characters or their emotions, and I feel apart from weak writing, it had more to do with the choice of actors, being specially inefficient, expressionless ones.

The one thing I did appreciate was the twist they end the film with, that I did not expect in the slightest, partly because I was on snooze towards that point. Overall, 'Pizza 2' was better that its predecessor in certain aspects, but could have been done so much better and scarier. It's worth a watch for people who don't watch a lot of the 'horror/thriller' genre, and don't know what they like. But if you didn't like the first one, the second is probably not going to be any different.

Easily, the best movie in recent times.

Pizza was a path breaking movie in many ways—Vijay Sethupathy established a new trend, the success of the movie created ripples and led to many other genre breaching movies (NKPK, Soothu Kavvum), short story directors got an identity for themselves. Now a year later, this movie has borrowed its title and along with it some of the original cast. But in the other areas, this movie is fresh and special in its own right.

A budding writer with Daddy issues inherits a Villa that his father had kept as a secret. The hero is left with no choice but to stay in the Villa. Initially the house brings him good luck, but as days roll on, eeriness prevail and disturbs through the paintings in the house. What is wrong with the house and how it is connected with the artwork forms the rest of the story.

At 102 minutes this is a well scripted, beautifully described work just like the paintings in the movie. The characters are limited and hence are well defined. Even the cameo of Nasser and SJ Surya gels well with the screenplay. Music and Cinematography adds grip to the already tight screenplay.

Amidst the Tamil Cinema filled with "Masala" and "Mass" based movies, this attempt certainly deserves kudos and a very loud round of applause. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Naming it Pizza 2 was the only mistake of this movie. One of 'The' most underrated movie.
This movie has really really great spine chilling moments. Slow burn horror movie. You'll really enjoy the intermission scene. Music is also awesome.

The old poet guy character was really thrilling. He gave me goosebumps. Nassar does a good cameo.

The only mistake these movie makers did is naming it as Pizza 2: Villa. They thought it will give a positive response and will become superhit. But actually it backfired.
