This series of seven minute episodes is centred on Rumi Yokoi a school girl who is constantly distracted by the antics of Toshinari Seki, the boy seated next to her. He never pays attention in class, instead he plays elaborate games. In each episode he does something different; uses erases like dominoes, fights a war with chess pieces or plays with a family of toy robots for example. Whatever Seki does Rumi tries to ignore but finds herself totally absorbed by it at the cost of her concentration on the subject of the classÂ… surely it is only a matter of time before Seki gets caught.
It might be said that this series has no real plot and every episode is the same: Seki does something rather wacky and distracts RumiÂ… however it is a lot of fun and one can't help wonder what Seki will get up to next. His antics are amusing, varied and creative and Rumi's reaction to them is fun to watch. The protagonists are fun to watch and they are well animated for a show that is in essence just a way of passing a few idle minutes. Overall I'd say this is well worth watching if you want to kill some time without worrying about deep plot or a proper story.
