When Sharon is decorating the Christmas Tree and Rusty makes a comment that she had a lot of angels to which Sharon quickly responds with, "Oh, you can never have too many angels." While the comment could be taken as being very innocent on the surface of things, what Sharon was really referencing are the "angels" that work in the Major Crimes Division who have all taken an interest in Rusty's well-being by throwing out all preconceived notions of people like Rusty after they "humanized" him. While most instances of showing compassion have been scattered throughout the episodes up through now, the most effective example was when all of the "angels" were present & standing in unison when Rusty asked his biological father to sign a document surrendering all parental rights to the state after Rusty's face showed evidence his father had apparently lost his temper and hit him in the face hard and more than once. In their own ways, those "angels" are all helping Sharon raise Rusty while he is staying with her and helping to keep him out of harm's way.
