February is the shortest month of the year but Prime Video is paying that no mind with its jam-packed list of new releases for February 2023.
This really is an uncommonly stuffed month on the Amazon streamer and it all starts with a handful of Amazon Originals. Amazon’s original offerings kick off with the release of Dave Franco-directed romcom Somebody I Used to Know on Feb. 10. That is followed by Carnival Row season 2 – a gritty fantasy crime drama is set in a world of steampunky fairies. The show stars Orlando Bloom and Cara Delevigne and this batch of episodes will be its swan song. Meanwhile The Consultant on Feb. 24 is a dark comedy workplace thriller starring Christoph Waltz.
The biggest hits this month, however, might just be some recent cinema faves. If February is for lovers, Amazon didn’t get the memo as there are quite a few horror movies of note here.

There are diverse streaming releases slates and then there is Hulu’s list of new releases for May 2022. There are no big franchises here, no big themes – just a whole bunch of original and library titles for everyone to enjoy.
Hulu’s major original releases in May come in the middle of the month. Candy premieres on May 9 and stars Jessica Biel as your friendly neighborhood axe murderer. If that sounds a bit outlandish, bear in mind that this limited series is based on the real life story of Candy Montgomery and her victim, the tragically named Betty Gore. On May 15, Hulu will play host to Conversations with Friends. This is the latest adaptation of the works of Sally Rooney. After the breakaway success of Normal People, Hulu is undoubtedly hoping for more lightning in a bottle.
On the movie side of things, May will welcome The Valet on May...

In the days leading up to the Fourth of July, New York governor Andrew Cuomo took to social media urging state residents to avoid indoor parties and large gatherings. But it seems folks didn’t listen and after seeing pictures of packed beaches and stocked bars surface online, a second wave of coronavirus-induced quarantine and social distancing seems closer than ever before.

“My Dinner with Herve” “originated from a real story,” reveals Sacha Gervasi. In the summer of 1993 the young journalist was sent to Los Angeles to write “a whole host of very important celebrity interviews, the least important of which was an interview with a now-faded French actor called Herve Villechaize.” But the inconsequential chat turned into a five-day discourse during which the star poured his heart out, only to die by suicide shortly thereafter. Twenty-five years later Gervasi wrote and directed the Emmy-nominated film starring Peter Dinklage as Villechaize and Jamie Dornan as a character based on Gervasi. Watch our exclusive video interview with the filmmaker above.

HBO has released the first teaser trailer for a new film called My Dinner with Hervé. The film stars Peter Dinklage in the role of the famous French dwarf actor Herve Villechaize, who many of you will know from the James Bond film The Man with the Golden Gun or Tattoo from the series Fantasy Island.
The film centers around the unlikely friendship that "evolves over one wild night in La between a struggling journalist (Jamie Dornan) and actor Hervé Villechaize (Dinklage), resulting in life-changing consequences for both."
The first trailer gives a good sense of the tone and vibe of the film, but it doesn't offer much other than set up the crazy story. I'm intrigued though, and it looks like it could be a great movie! There's no doubt that Dinklage is going to be awesome in this role that he plays.

"I have a little story for you, junior." HBO has unveiled the teaser trailer for a new film titled My Dinner with Hervé, the latest feature made by award-winning filmmaker Sacha Gervasi. The film stars Peter Dinklage as the famous French dwarf actor Herve Villechaize, who many will recognize from either The Man with the Golden Gun (as Scaramanga's little henchman Nick Nack) or "Fantasy Island" (as Tattoo). The story is about an evening in Los Angeles in which struggling journalist Danny Tate, as played by Jamie Dornan, is sent to meet and interview Herve. This really happened and, as the story goes, it was "an encounter that will have life-changing consequences for both." I had no idea they were even making this film! But I am so very interested already. This teaser doesn't show much, but it's more than enough to sell me. I'm a big fan of Nick Nack,...

A privileged teen ventures onto the wrong side of the tracks, and a would-be murder mystery veers into ever-more-faux dramatic territory in November Criminals, the third film by Sacha Gervasi (Anvil: The Story of Anvil, Hitchcock). The starry chemistry of leads Ansel Elgort and Chloë Grace Moretz injects a modicum of energy into the coming-of-age drama, whose elements of romance, crime and smart-kid angst never coalesce.
Beyond the movie's missing sense of urgency, it strands David Strathairn and especially Catherine Keener on the sidelines of the narrative clutter. The feature was released to digital streaming outlets in advance of a theatrical run that's sure...

"My friend just got killed... You can't expect me just to sit around and not do anything about it!" Sony has debuted the first official trailer for a crime drama titled November Criminals, from the director of Anvil: The Story of Anvil and Hitchcock previously. Adapted from Sam Munson's novel of the same name, the story is about a high schooler who takes on his own investigation of a murder in Washington D.C. The film stars Ansel Elgort and Chloe Grace Moretz, along with Catherine Keener, David Strathairn, Cory Hardrict, Terry Kinney, Danny Flaherty, Victor Williams, and Tessa Albertson. Maybe it is just because I'm seeing Ansel Elgort once again, but this reminds me of so many other films recently, including Paper Towns and Netflix's "13 Reasons Why". Here's to hoping it's good, but I'm not entirely sure just yet. Here's the first official trailer for Sacha Gervasi's November Criminals,...

“November Criminals” is a movie that, on paper, should be a homerun. Long in development, Lisa Cholodenko (“The Kids Are All Right,” “Olive Kitteridge“) was initially attached to direct, before Sacha Gervasi (“Hitchcock,” the upcoming “My Dinner With Hervé“) took over. With a script by Steven Knight (“Eastern Promises,” “Locke“) the film landed two rising young stars in Ansel Elgort (“Baby Driver“) and Chloe Grace Moretz, and even has the cinematography skills of Mihai Malaimare Jr.

Ansel Elgort is riding the success of “Baby Driver” right into the fall, in which he stars opposite Chloë Grace Moretz in the indie murder mystery “November Criminals.” Based on the novel of the same name by Sam Munson, the film stars the two Ya favorites as a pair of college-bound friends who team up to try and solve the mysterious death of one of their classmates. Think “Brink” with a dash of romance and a bit more conventional.
“November Criminals” is directed by British journalist-turned-filmmaker Sacha Gervasi, best known for directing the documentary “Anvil! The Story of Anvil” and the Anthony Hopkins-starring “Hitchcock.” He’s currently in production on the HBO original movie My Dinner With Hervé, starring Jamie Dornan and Peter Dinklage. The supporting cast includes Tessa Albertson, Catherine Keener, and David Strathairn.

Catherine Keener is headed for the cutthroat, morally grey world of crooked cops and drug wars.
Deadline is reporting that the actress, who had roles in both November Criminals and family drama Little Pink House, has climbed aboard Soldado, the embryonic action sequel to last year’s visceral narcotics thriller Sicario. Joining forces with Benicio Del Toro and Josh Brolin – Emily Blunt sadly won’t be returning for the follow-up – Keener has landed the role of Brolin’s superior, and together they’ll work to police the network of Mexican tunnels used by drug lords to cross the border into America.
Brolin’s questionable CIA agent Matt Graver is by no means a straight shooter, so it’ll be interesting to see which side of the moral spectrum Keener’s boss character hails from. Our guess? One of those inky grey areas between right and wrong.

The rumors of Chloë Grace Moretz's breakup with Hollywood have been greatly exaggerated. Last week, at the Deauville American Film Festival, the November Criminals actress told The Hollywood Reporter she's taking time out of her schedule to focus on producing, in hopes of one day selling two TV shows. "I pulled the plug on all my movies because I want to reassess who I am and find myself within my roles again," she said. "I'm realizing that I can slow down." Like her non-famous peers, the teen star is trying to figure out who she is and who she wants to be—and it's much easier to do that when she's not spending the majority of her time on a film set. E! Larry Wilmore may not be the only African American host in late night television. Neil deGrasse Tyson, noted astrophysicist and the Internet’s favorite person ever behind Benedict Cumberbatch and Patrick Stewart, is reportedly moving his hit podcast Star Talk to the National Geographic Channel, Deadline reports.
The show is inspired by NPR’s Car Talk and features Tyson speaking with celebrities about everything from science to pop culture to comedy. “It will be National Geographic’s very first talk show so we look forward to how this plays out,” Tyson said to a group of journalists at the Winter TV Press Tour 2015.
Tyson previously hosted Fox’s remake of the documentary series Cosmos, and we previously reported that he has an awful lot of thoughts about Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar. He recently also attracted some unwanted attention from religious types after tweeting that Isaac Newton shared a birthday with Jesus Christ.
