I never could fully understand why I continued watching The Knick after its pilot episode. But after watching today's episode I am drained of all compunction that I might have had before. I am not savvy to any of the medical terms and nor am I seemingly empathetic to the doctors' plight during that era. All the same, something kept drawing me back to it. And I am all the better for it. I needn't be too emphatic on Clive Owen's acting because everyone knows how good an actor he is. The characters are gradually starting to mean something to me, if they were not already. The direction as always is impeccable and the writers don't seem to feel the need of fastening their pace. If there's anyone among you who is dubious of continuing to watch, you don't need to be. Enjoy the new episode. You certainly wouldn't be wasting your time.
