why Bonnie is always the one who suffers
toddcha9 September 2016
Warning: Spoilers
It's a good finale, and it also reveals more about humanity and true friendship.

Bonnie is always helpful. She reaches out to anyone who needs help and even gives her life to Jeremy. I don't see Elena really appreciate Bonnie's sacrifice even if Bonnie is bleeding in front of her. All she cares is about Damon's survive. Well... it sounds very ostensible when thinking of Elena told Bonnie that she would never let that happen again. Another thing I really don't like about Elena is when she still has a chance to get away from the Travelers, she insists on talking over what happened between her and Damon. What a sigh...Even Caroline kills Luke just for the whole resurrection thing.

Great finale
Jasonturbill1016 May 2014
Warning: Spoilers
This was a great finale, I loved it, everyone was great in this, I have no idea how Damon and Bonnie will come back, but it was a great ending and made me want season 6 straight away.

Although I didn't like that elena didn't cry over stefan dying, seemed out of character to me, but it was good to see Damon upset by his brothers death. And it was awesome to see stefan really upset by Damon's death, I do love these brothers, they ain't no Sam and dean winchester, but there cool. Lexi was brilliant, I loved having her back, and basically sacrificing herself for Damon to return to stefan, that was so awesome. Poor Bonnie, she isn't my favourite character, but she was awesome on this episode. Alaric is back, fantastic.

This season has been a good season, much better than season 4 which is the worse season, season 3 tho is still the best. I'm excited for season 6, and hope it turns out to be the best :).

Season 5 finale

Season 5 is my favourite season of TVD, this whole finale is emotional and has fantastic acting from the cast with the stakes high like in most or all season finales and it did not disappoint.

Best finale yet Warning: Spoilers
Great finale. I feel that Elena not crying over Stefan's death wasn't a bad idea.Stefan deserves to rest a Lil bit after all. He's had a lot of shitty memories to deal with. Dying was the best way out for him. i hope he comes back later though.

I however wasn't a big fan of Alaric coming back. I'd have preferred Lexi; she's more fun even though she's had only few appearances in the show.

I think Enzo is going to be a sort of replacement for Damon since Damon is going to be gone for a while. I like his witty statements and his accent. I'd say Enzo is a combination of Damon's character and more charming characteristics. I look forward to seeing what he'd be up to in season 6.

Vampire diaries.... WTF!
Thewisecritic28 May 2014
Warning: Spoilers
Oh vampire diaries you sure know how to pull on the old heart strings, I bawled my eyes out like a big baby when Damon was saying good bye to Elena. Gee he really can't catch a break with her! Honestly don't know why they decided to bring back Elenas uncle (yes that's right I can't remember his name which basically means he was boring and Unmemorable) they could have brought back Lexi as she was much more exciting. But I understand why, Caroline is now Stefan's new BFF who is hoping for more. I'm really hoping they don't go there (although I know the producers will) but I just don't believe there could ever be a really love connection between the two, would feel and look forced. Plus Caroline is whiny and down right annoying, bring back Bonnie instead! OK so not really a review but more of a rant, either way can't wait for the next season!

Spoiler alert! The part Paul Wesley was born to play returns!!
leaanste16 December 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I've never reviewed a tv show before but gosh this show earned my first review!

Paul Wesley returns briefly to reprise his role as Silas!

Was worth a rewind to re- live watching the fun that pours out of Paul Wesley when he plays this part!! He just lights up the screen. I loved all the Silas episodes, dark comedy is the best. Happy watching folks!

The whole episode is great, I loved Caroline taking control and snapping a certain annoying witch's throat to force the other witch to take action, it's about time Caroline is given a storyline that causes her to be decisive and a little destructive to save someone she is beginning to love, you'll know who if you watch it. The series is not long for Netflix these days so hurry and tune in before it's gone! TVD is a rare find, I'm late to the game, but as I understand it since Covid and lockdown, viewers have been discovering this entertaining series for the first time! It'll see me through the winter anyway and then I'll need a new series ha!

So...
user-463-6045675 June 2014
Warning: Spoilers
Overall the episode was written well, acted fairly, directed average TV show directing. Yet, somehow this is far from average. They could have had a million ways to end the season and yet they chose the worst possible way. I have been watching the Vamp Diaries since around season 2. I've seen all the episodes and liked most of them. The reason being because of Damon. He was the only wild card in the series. He stole every scene was in fact the best for Elaina (also he distracted from her whiny acting). So why did they killed him? Your guess is as good as mine. So I am no longer watching this show because they killed the one thing that made the show worth watching.

Getting out of the Other Side
vivianla19 December 2022
Warning: Spoilers
The Traveller that Enzo has brought is Silas. Elena inquires on the Traveller and Bonnie hilariously replies it is a woman who is senile.

Liv and Luke try to escape from the town as they know the group will probably get revenge because they tried to kill Stefan and Elena. Elena and Caroline stop them. Liv's voice is so pretty - it is similar to Hayley's.

Somebody saves Stefan from being blown away into oblivion. It's Lexi! She has that wiseness about her that I love.

Sheriff Forbes is forced to evacuate the town due to a potential "gas leak" as ordered by Markos. Markos shows her to a field where Mystic Falls sign is at. Sheriff Forbes looks so pretty with short hair as the wind blows it. She sees Julian in Tyler's body die.

Matt and Jeremy are to set off the gas into Mystic Falls. Matt hilariously comments how they are destroying the place they found work at. Sheriff Forbes is planning to leave before 7 but Markos intervenes and asks her to sit with him for a drink. He is suspicious on her leaving.

Liv is chanting. Lots of people are on the Other Side now and they are reluctant to pass without everyone present. Damon is missing though but is found by Alaric. Enzo, Tyler, Elena, Stefan, Alaric pass through Bonnie to become alive again. Lexi realizes every time a person goes through Bonnie, she is closer to death. Lexi finds peace and disappears. Liv's brother doesn't want her to continue because he is worried she will die. He passes through Bonnie to become alive again. Luke stops Liv before Damon can go through. Damon and Bonnie say their goodbyes and their last words before a blinding white light takes over the Other Side.
