Best show ever

The scene where everyone collects at the Salvatore house has my heart. The friendship between Damon and Alaric is a thing never to forget.

Excellent

Warning: Spoilers
I really enjoyed this episode. The seeming end of Katerina Petrova is worthy of the 100th episode. Bringing back so many past characters if even for a few seconds was awesome.

The only one I am unhappy about is Elijah. I believe he would have gone to see her if he knew she was dying. The ending they had in "American Gothic" was not enough. To have his scene a hallucination was not good.

I am a big Klaroline fan so having that scene with Klaus and Caroline was epic! And Caroline saying she got lost in the woods while pulling leaves out her hair was hilarious.

I loved the connections with the title "Let Her Go". So many levels. Letting go of Katherine after so long. Having the song "Let Her Go" in it by Passenger. Hint hint, nudge nudge, wink wink, say no more. And then maybe a bit tenuous the hook up between Klaus and Caroline. Since there was a Klaroline fan video ages ago to the same song.

In an episode of love and loss, and the bond between mother and daughter, we become prepared to say goodbye.

Warning: Spoilers
Katherine is dying, but Nadia come up with the plan to put Katherine's mind into her own body. She gains the help of the others, by threatening Matt's life, and makes a deal with the Travellers. In an episode of twists and turns, we become accepting the death of Katerina Petrova; however, that is not what Julie Plec and the writers had planned for Katherine Pierce. Returning cast members for the 100th episode include: All current Main Characters Joseph Morgan as Niklaus Mikaelson Daniel Gillies as Elijah Mikaelson (Illusion) Claire Holt as Rebekah Mikaelson Kayla Ewell as Vicky Donovan Sara Canning as Jenna Sommers (Illusion) David Anders as John Gilbert (Illusion) Bianca Lawson as Emily Bennett

the 100th episode

This was a really good 100th episode, I think that Katherine should have died in the episode, I think that would have been a perfect way to cap off the milestone by closing that chapter of the series.

As 100th eps go this wasn't so great
CaraMSchec27 January 2014
Warning: Spoilers
So, this is one of those 100th eps that they obviously wanted to get as many characters into it as possible, whether or not it made sense for them to be there. The episode is about (largely) Katherine dyeing. And honestly I was hoping she would, she's been an antagonist in this series long enough and honestly I'm tiered of her. So everyone else is taking time "reminiscing" on what she's done to them. And that's a nice way to do a bit of a 100 ep review without it being too obvious. It's when Klaus and Rebekah show up that I'm siting here going "But wait, they are in New Orleans dealing with big stuff, so why are they suddenly here?" (Thank you "The Originals".) And then dead people start making appearances. Dead people we haven't seen for a very long time. Some of these are thanks to Bonnie's fun new powers, and some thanks to Damon and his mind games. And really, by this point I was just starting to check off people who have appeared in the show to see how many they could squeeze in. It felt very forced. And the entire episode's actual plot could have taken place in about 1/2 the time. And in the end, it wasn't even worth it because Katherine isn't dead so I still have to deal with her.

Katherine's Deathbed
vivianla27 November 2022
Warning: Spoilers
This episode showcases many dead characters and the Originals which is a nice reminiscent.

Katherine has been taken to the hospital by Stefan and he compelled the docs to let him take her home so it might be more comfortable for her.

Damon, Matt and Jeremy drink to the most awful moments that Katherine has done to them in their lives. Damon looked for her for over a hundred years thinking she was buried in a crypt while she wasn't. Jeremy was fed to Silas and got into a car accident. Katherine killed Vicki. The girls come in and Elena tells Jeremy he is stopping. She takes a shot glass and says that Katherine impersonated her so many times. Caroline died because of her.

Damon says that just because they had hot sex one time Stefan shouldn't be defending her so much. The group looks shocked and Damon asks Caroline if she updated them. Nadia appears and Damon asks Caroline if she got the group caught up with who Nadia is. Caroline hilariously facepalms.

Nadia has taken Matt and buried him alive. This prompts Caroline, Bonnie and Jeremy to go out looking for him. On the walk the camera work is different but very good - not sure what changed. Bonnie and Jeremy joke around about Bonnie not being a good choice to sleep with after Jeremy comments that they all made bad sex choices. Not just Stefan. This shocks Caroline excitedly and she asks if Elena knows - Caroline is ecstatic.

Nadia brings Elena and Stefan to a home of the travellers where it turned out she lured them because the travellers wanted doppelgangers in exchange for a traveller to help get Katherine into another body. Elena and Stefan are drained of a bucket of blood each and are free to leave.

Caroline meets Klaus in the forest. He heard Katherine is dying and Caroline scolds him for being pleased for someone's death. Klaus also heard Tyler chose revenge over her. There is some tension and Klaus promising he will leave and never come back forever should she want that. Caroline kisses Klaus and he pins her to a tree where he takes off her top. She is wearing a lacy pink bra that looks super cute.

Matt gets out of the enclosed space and finds Rebekah in a marled grey cardigan. She scolds him for getting into trouble while she was gone and smiles at him.

Caroline comes back late and the group wonders with raised brows where she was. She claims she got lost. Elena is with Katherine on her deathbed where she forgives her. In the last few moments Katherine grabs Elena and transfer to her body. Katherine's old body is dead. She picks up her phone when Nadia calls asking if it worked. Katherine checks out her vampire appearance in the mirror.
