In this episode, Dana's mom 'Mrs. Caldwell' is played by Barbara Alyn Woods the real-life mother of the Natalie Alyn Lind, the actress who plays 'Dana'.
It is possible Albert's commercial persona is based on Lou Nicozisis' Carpet Mart store in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. The commericals would mimic Ghostbusters and other such pop characters/scenarios. These commericals would play out in the local TV markets of Philly, Reading, and Lancaster areas.
