Give him a chance..... It is on channel Dave.

When I saw this first been advertised it didn't really appeal to me that much, but one night when I couldn't find anything to watch I gave it a chance and really enjoyed it. When it comes to comedy everyone has got there own sense of humor so I can see why it's got somewhat mixed reviews, but it is on channel Dave and from my opinion it's one of the best channels and rarley they show anything bad. Dave Gorman: Modern Life Is Goodish is a show that points out the faults in modern life's society and makes quite valid obscure statements and at times he has gone to some extreme measures just to prove his point which ends up been just as true as it is hysterical.

Dave as funny as always but over all it keeps one delighted

Yes he can use a bit more Sault with his presentation but discuses real issues vary well keeps it clean of politics (some time it seems like he tries to avoid it too much...)

funny and well made - after watching this show I was just delighted

(but the poem section is usually a bit useless and over the top and the ignorance of online commenter's is a funny thing but it feels like David tries too hard to find a place for that section in every episode ) on the other hand the show is very well presented and well done

I can't believe I almost never gave this show a chance.

We all would like to try everything as thoroughly as possible before forming an opinion, or at least my generation of education taught me so. But what my generation of education didn't see is none of us, not one, can ever, ever have the time for all of that.

But once in a while I have some energy and inclination left after watching repeats of QI I have watched too many times before (I know confessing to watching too many repeats of QI can be discrediting for my review, but heck, where else would you find THIS program).

I know I actually spent most of my review talking about why I watched it rather than about the show it itself but here's why: 1) I suspect you're reading this because you're roughly in the same place of wondering whether you want to give it a watch 2) It's really quite good so I don't want to spoil it for you 3) Really how much more explanation and introduction do you need for another stand-up comedy?

Honestly, it's got a tad long built-up compared to Live at Apollo, lots of information, (and that's why it's got a lot of visual aids), etc. But those ones are often the best bits of each comedians over a long time compressed into one act. And the stuff this one builds up to is really good.

Oh and it was episode 5 I watched and he spent most of it taking the mickey out of reviews on the internet, so I doubt Dave will leave my good deed unpunished.

Very entertaining

A very well made series with good observations on life by Dave and i enjoyed the enthusiasm he has for his subjects. The one about the greetings cards (watch for yourself but it's hilarious) had me in stitches.

Obviously it's not as fast paced as some would like but i don't think that detracts from the quality of the programme.

Thanks to Gorman's YouTube Channel

A friend of mine sent me a link to Series 5 Episode 7 on YouTube, ant then I watched it at the weekend.

For some people, it might feel a little bit long, but I really loved it.

At first, his style reminded me of John Oliver's, but this show had started one year before Last Week Tonight. So, if there's any inspiration it is vice versa.

The amount of planning and attention to details are amazing and so much fun to watch.

I have a few favorites: Big Ben repairers, toy car mischief, disposable cameras, dishwashers, life-hacks, the "bull in a china shop", and many more.

Looking forward to starting to watch his current show, as well.

Not funny

Warning: Spoilers
I wanted to give the show a chance so I watched a few episodes before coming to the conclusion that it was terrible in every way.

  • Bad jokes

  • forced laughter

  • bland and unfunny stories

Dave Gorman tries to be sarcastic and witty but comes across as awkward and unfunny, even the audience struggle to laugh at his "jokes"

Why Dave gave this a second series is a mystery and shows poor judgement on their part, I only hope viewers will be more intelligent and get rid of this awful piece of television.
