Weird but Hilarious Episode,

Yellow Subterfuge is a great Simpsons episode with a good storyline and a ton of really funny scenes. The episode is filled with humour that you would rarely see the show do,for example,an old west song about Principal Skinner, but I like when the show takes turns that you don't expect. That being said, the second half of this episode is very dark, sort of Treehouse of Horror level darkness that was very weird, but I still really enjoyed this although it was certainly unusual.Yellow Subterfuge is a very enjoyable Simpsons episode.

Bart's prank playing days could be over when Principal Skinner introduces a unique incentive to make Springfield Elementary's worst students behave.

I agree with a previous reviewer - this was a weird little episode.

It doesn't seem to know how far it wants to go down the black/dark comedy route, and ends up doing a massive U turn midway through to stay on the lighter path.

Because of this the ending rather plays out in uninspiring form, and misses a good opportunity to be something more than what it was, relying instead on the 'Skinner' Western inspired song for humour.

This sums up the show for me at this point, it wanted to try new things which is admirable, but felt perhaps a bit stuck in a certain format and style. Maybe they were afraid of annoying an already volatile fan base.
