I'll give it 8.

Another season of Total Drama with all the things we want from it.

I was a little put out hearing that it was just going to be at Wawanakwa again but I found this to be another enjoyable series pitting classic cast members against the Revenge cast.

It might have worked better if the revenge cast had been more established but it's still tons of fun to actually see two different casts collide even if there are missed opportunities in there.

The arc of Gwen and Courtneys developing relationship was the season's most memorable aspect but we got a formidable antagonist that kept things way interesting even among all the other former bad guys. The "good guys vs bad guys" gimmick really helped make the show seem like more than a rehash as we really see character relationships come to fruition.

They only problems for me were things it missed, but what is there is good.

Sometimes fun continuation of the Total Drama franchise
KinoBuff20212 November 2022
This review encompasses Total Drama All Stars and Total Drama Pahkitew Island. Both series were alright but felt like they ran their course and rushed character development.

All Stars: Consists of a mix "original" cast members from Seasons 1-3 and the next generation, Revenge of the Island. This season seemed more tied to its roots of Total Drama Island with character dynamics and overall plot, but the execution was rather dull. Chris McLean ends up sucking the show dry of normalness. Disappointing use of characters like Mike and the original cast who are largely underused.

Pahkitew Island: 14 brand new contestants on a new island with familiar traits from Total Drama Island. Characters were either pretty interesting or just plain annoying. Chris McLean sucks and Chef is basically nonexistent. Challenges at first appear very interesting but somehow are not very useful for the storyline. Things stayed exciting towards the end with a few enjoyable moments, but the remaining cast becomes rather disappointing and limits the potential of the ending.

Unless you're a dedicated camper (Total Drama fan) neither of these seasons are particularly worth watching as they don't really add much to the series.

All stars. One of my favourites. (Major spoilers)

Warning: Spoilers
Okay, I don't get why Sam was in it instead of Brick, I seriously don't get it. Anyway, I don't get why this season is so hated, it's really good to rewatch! Sometimes a bit forgetable, but still. I don't get why Owen wasn't this this either, but the next paragraph will explain what I think about this season, not just thoughts.

So, the Mal being the antagonist wasn't the worst decision, but was okay. Alejandros voice actor didn't do the best this season, but I still like him in it. It was cool to see Alejandro back from the robot suit. I wish Alejandro went further in this season. Scott and Courtney were too funny. Zoey needs a brain, and so does Cameron. But this season is underrated and overhated. Elimination order wasn't good, Lindsay was robbed, Lightning was poor. Jo was dumb but funny. Heather should've known better. Liked the Mike. Even if he was barely in this season. Winner was good. Alejandro and Heather were only brought back for Heather x Alejandro, liked it though.

Hated this season.

Warning: Spoilers
I rate this a 0 out of 10 despite my other rating because there are so many flaws about this season. Terrible plot, unlikeable characters, character derailment, unnecessary interactions (like during episode 2 between Gwen and Alejandro). This is a huge slap in the face to TD fans and a bad insult to the entire series. I wish that I can unsee TDAS. I wrote a little review of it while I was reviewing Dragon Ball GT, although it was supposed to be for GT, but to be honest, I hate GT and TDAS for the same reasons. The reason why I hate TDAS more is because I cringe every time I think about it, the characters are more unlikeable (Mike, Zoey, Cameron), the ending sucked (I can't remember the ending of GT since I haven't watched it in ages), and the final two is the worst possible characters. Really? You had to choose Mike as the official winner? What about Zoey?

It's really a heavily flawed season that I hope not to watch again, even if I wanted to, otherwise I might lose some brain cells.

So forgettable and this season ruined almost every contestant
bevaneborges6 July 2022
Warning: Spoilers
When I watched Total Drama as a kid and teenager (I was a teenager when All-Stars came out), I remembered all the season names ... except for this one.

Even as a teenager, I completely forgot there was an All-Stars season, and having rewatched it in April 2022, I can completely see why this was the case.

I could make a 5 page list of all of the problems in this season, but to give you the short answer:

1. Many of the contestants we knew and loved have been flanderised into idiotic or charmless versions of their former selves.

2. Mal is the worst villain in Total Drama history.

3. Chris McLean has worsened his sociopathic, sadistic personality.

4. The eliminations are too predictable.

5. Much like Revenge of the Island (the previous season), there are only 13 episodes instead of 26 like Island, Action and World Tour (the first three seasons), excluding Island and Action's specials.

This season was apparently also rushed and had just four writers, the least of any of the seven iterations of the show (counting the Ridonculous Race spin-off), which really shows in the final product of some episodes including the infamous Sundae Muddy Sundae, which is the worst episode in the show's history.

In my opinion, the only contestant who wasn't ruined was Scott who actually improved from his Revenge of the Island self and had a wholesome romance with Courtney.

Speaking of Courtney, while she did appear to improve on her behaviour displayed in previous seasons, the aforementioned Sundae Muddy Sundae episode completely destroyed her character. And I later found out that the show did NOT intend to improve Courtney meaning that her romance with Scott and friendship with Gwen were pointless!

Alejandro is also flanderised. Despite being one of the best players of the game in World Tour, he thinks it's OK to tell Mal (really an obvious evil alternate personality of Mike) that he knows about him and wants to take him down. Keep in mind, Alejandro's cleverness got MOST of World Tour's contestants eliminated.

Speaking of Mike, the show's portrayal of his Multiple Personality Disorder is confusing as hell. How on earth did Chris know what was going on inside Mike's brain? And why did Mal, the personality who became the season's prime antagonist, get defeated by a stupid reset button? The latter event was so underwhelming.

Also the finale was the worst of the show's seven finales to date. Not only was this the first finale not to have all the eliminated contestants return on-screen (eight of the twelve were seen inside balloons in silhouette but did not appear), but it was hard to root for Mike due to Mal or Zoey (who is ironically Mike's girlfriend) because of her stupidity in choosing to ignore the clearly dangerous Mal. I live in Australia, and we got the ending which had Zoey as the winner, and while I was happy Mike didn't win due to what he did under Mal's influence, I can't say I was entirely enthused about Zoey's victory.

Also, Camp Wawanakwa, the season's setting, sinks to the bottom of the ocean even though Total Drama Island's special established it was not an island (this itself has been contradicted multiple times in the past) and there is no indication as to what Mike and Zoey would want to do with the $1 million they won. Also, the finale was a bad ending for Gwen, Cameron, Alejandro and Heather as there was little indication as to what they wanted to do in the future (except for Heather and Alejandro now being in a relationship) and the characters never returned to the show (excluding Total DramaRama).

Some additional issues include Lindsay and Jo being completely wasted, Sierra and Sam being pointless, especially the former due to Cody's absence and the fact that there are only 14 contestants. Personally, I would have wanted Bridgette and Geoff to come back, especially because Bridgette's eliminations in Island and World Tour didn't make any sense and I feel like she should have made it to at least the top 5 in one of her competing seasons. I also feel like Geoff not competing after Action meant his character did not get sufficient development, though he returned in the Ridonculous Race spin-off.

Also those who have watched the previous seasons of Total Drama may notice that 6 of the 14 contestants (Gwen, Duncan, Alejandro, Heather, Cameron and Lightning) have already been finalists in a previous season. While it is kind of understandable why Gwen, Alejandro and Heather would be fine coming back as their prize money ended up being lost (Gwen's was eaten by a shark, while Alejandro's/Heather's was burned in Hawaii), the other 3 probably don't need to come back as they have already won the million dollar prize in the past.

6 For All Stars, 1 for Pathikew Island (idk how to spell it)
ournameis_legion7 February 2021
OK so we got All Stars which gave us a closure to the Duncan, Courtney and Gwen Storyline. Although the two finalists wasnt the best choice. It was kind of based more around the newer cast sadly. honestly there are characters that are so annoying and they did Lindsay NO JUSTICE. Why wasnt Leshawna here? she deserves to win a season. However after all Stars we have the Atrocious Pathikew Island. Yes it was horrible and thats why i had to take a Star Away. no i know these were separate seasons, but it seems that they are together on this app so- Pathikew Island was so bad i couldnt even handle one episode. This is when Total Drama died. Like they could have done so much with the og cast. And i normally like the newer stuff. Honestly they should have had a season where Eva got more screen time.

now this season must've been a mistake.
chefstrawberry24 September 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Listen, I'm not a person who usually hates shows for no reason and hate on things like this, but "Total Drama All Stars" sucked. It only sucked because they tried to cram too much, therefore it didn't even make sense. The characters weren't the same, the show wasn't the same, and the jokes weren't even jokes. I swear the canon ships were pretty bad as well.

I'll speak about the characters first, because that's kinda what made the season bad. Gwen and Courtney were pretty much fan favorites. Personally, I still like both of the as if the whole 'love triangle' between Duncan, Gwen, and Courtney did not exist. The main problem was though, the characters just were changed really badly. Gwen suffered the most perhaps-considering she only came back for Courtney. For Gwen's personality I would think she'd come back for Duncan. She was also seen to have little to no remorse for not breaking up with Duncan after letting him willingly cheat. Honestly, it was really Action that ruined the characters. Gwen would never sabotage Trent-even if he was wild. It's just not her character. Courtney was also a character that suffered character change. Her being the typical 'Type-A', she is a bit annoying. But for a Courtney fan, that's okay. As a Courtney fan I have to say I was disappointed to see she really turned worse. She became so invested in love and getting back at Duncan, it's like she forgot she was competing. Zoey came off a little more dumb. Not noticing Mike's personality change was really out of character. She's more of a girl that's smarter and is capable of finding things out like that faster. It was very obvious. The rest of the characters remained the same. Some having minor character changes (like Duncan) but the changes weren't really bad.

The next thing is just in general, the show was just bad. They tried to put two generations in one season. It wasn't enough drama (hence the title). The drama was just focused around Mal, and Gwen and Duncan. Everyone else kinda seemed to be forgotten about. It may have been a bad season because Heather got less screen time-along with Alejandro. I have noticed the seasons that seem to suck mainly have Heather eliminated pretty early. Her creating drama makes the show more intensifying so it's just better.

Finally, the jokes. The jokes were kind of corny, or just flat out cursed (chris's plant baby scene for an example). Honestly they didn't bring back the people who actually made the show funny. Noah was one of them, his sarcastic comments making World Tour as funny as it was. I believe that that's also another reason why the season was bad.

TLDR; The characters were a little trash and just overall not the same. The show didn't give the same feels and didn't have enough drama. The jokes were just too bad.
