More historical than martial arts
ckormos12 August 2019
It opens with a rebel on the run from soldiers with rifles. After a scuffle he escapes, injured, and hides at Lord Ma's house. The official's and rebels discuss the plot for a while then cut to people on a train. The police stop the train for a search. Our hero escapes again. He meets Chang Ching-Ching at a casino. Yi Yuan and his gang take him and our girl prisoner.

I probably stumbled across this movie looking for more from Chang Ching-Ching or Yi Yuan. My copy is a digital file that plays on a HDTV as a square sized video with dual Chinese and English hard subtitles. The size, shape, and resolution is typical of the old VHS tape format. The sides of the video and the subtitles are cut off to fit the old television sets with picture tubes.

This movie is mostly historical and concerns the time of Sun Yat Sen. There is martial arts also but the total fight time amounts to about ten minutes. As an historical movie, there are many better movies about the Chinese revolution at that time in history. As a martial arts movie, it minimally fills that category. To complete my review, there is not much to say bad about it and not much to say good about it. My recommendation is simply - take it or leave it if you are a fan of this sort of thing.
