Welcome to this edition of The Last Week In Wrestling, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and we have lots of wrestling and a little bit of Ted Danson. If it starts to rain, you can stand under Ted’s fore-head and you won’t get wet and that’s wonderful. Let’s just get right to it.

Welcome to this week’s Monday Night Raw review, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and we have a major announcement to get to, as well as a big main event. Let’s get to the action Jackson! Carl Weathers won’t be involved in this, by the way. I don’t know him and he doesn’t seem like the kind of guy to appear in a review, especially one that’s just in print. Could you fit a person in a sentence? You’d probably need to keep the sharp points of the letters from piercing their temple. They’d probably get that weird tongue-dangling-out-of-the-mouth look, and that eyes-roll-into-the-back of-your-head motif going on. Is that what a moose looks like if they ram their head into another moose too many times? What the hell was I going to do? Oh, wrestling… I need to get the...

Welcome to this week’s review of Monday Night Raw, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and I say we get this show on the road with another episode of Monday Night Nitro… damn it. I’d erase that but my computer didn’t come with a delete button. …too expensive. Anyway, let’s get ready for Whose Line Is It Anyway.
Match #1: Nia Jax & Natalya beat Raw Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss & Mickie James – Women’s tag Team Match The following is courtesy of WWE.com:
Alexa Bliss may have taken another L on Raw as her Raw Women’s Title defense approaches, but give her credit for knowing that, 1) the real fight comes during Sunday’s Extreme Rules Match, and 2) her best chance of beating or even weakening Nia Jax in that match is to use the full scope of that lawless stipulation. If tonight was any indication,...

In an age where special effects reign supreme, there’s one aspect of the filmmaking process that hasn’t gone through a radical transformation — music. Some of the best movies in any given year would be sorely lacking without their memorable scores, and this has remained true well into the first two decades of the 21st century.

Film composers play an integral part in the filmmaking process, and there are a handful whose bodies of work stand out in recent years. Of course, this list of 12 major composers only begins to scratch the surface of the talent out there. There are plenty of other worthy contributors to the medium who didn’t make the cut — Danny Elfman and John Williams, we’re looking at you — but rest assured that this top dozen represent the cream of the crop.

WWE Nxt saw four men battle for the Number One Contender spot for Shinsuke Nakamura’s Nxt Championship. Bobby Roode, Ty Dillinger, Cien Andrade Almas, and Roderick Strong battled in a pretty decent match that saw Bobby Roode pin Ty Dillinger for the win.
I like seeing Roode finally challenge for the title. Among the four, Bobby Roode has the most immediate upside. Roderick Strong’s resume speaks for itself. Yet I think some work needs to be done to more fully introduce him to the casual fan. To me, Nxt is the show that bridges the gap between the type of fan that attends any and all independent wrestling shows and the fan who’s only contact with the wrestling business is what the WWE has to offer on a weekly basis. Being that Bobby Roode was Tna Champion while Tna still had a major network still airing their show,...

Adam Goldberg describes his latest film “No Way Jose” as “a coming of middle age story,” and its studio agrees. “Amazingly I wrote that on the script and Sony said, ‘That’s cool too, for the poster,'” Goldberg told TheWrap’s Greg Gilman during a new episode of “Drinking With the Stars.” The film follows Goldberg as a struggling 40-year-old musician whose fiancée kicks him out just before their wedding. He spends the rest of the film at the home of a married friend trying to come to grips with where he finds himself at this point in his life.

Exclusive: Adam Goldberg is set to co-star opposite Jim Gaffigan in Gaffigan’s CBS single-camera comedy pilot from Sony TV. The project, co-written by Gaffigan and Peter Tolan, is inspired by Gaffigan’s real life and stars the comedian as Jim, the happily married and harried NYC father of five. Goldberg will play Dave Reedy, Jim Gaffigan’s best friend, a die-hard New Yorker and stand-up comic who lives next door and is always at hand to give Jim the benefit of his neurotic counsel. Goldberg, repped by UTA and Luber Roklin, is recurring on FX’s limited series Fargo and recently wrapped production on the film No Way Jose, which he wrote, directed, starred in and produced.

Ahna O'Reilly really knows a thing or two about working with James Franco. Not only has she known him for years (they even dated), but she also worked with him on his feature-length debut, As I Lay Dying, which comes out on video on demand today and will be available on DVD on Nov. 5. We got a chance to talk to Ahna about working on the film adaptation of the classic of the same name by William Faulkner and learned about her new literature-related project with James. Popsugar: How did you get involved with As I Lay Dying? Ahna O'Reilly: I’ve known James Franco and [producer] Vince Jolivette for years, and I knew that they wanted to make this. At one point they mentioned to me that they wanted me to be Dewey Dell, but this was two years before it actually got made. I just didn’t want...
