I was hooked to the season 1, 2 and even 3, 4 but then it gets boring. Liked the action and the concept. Though I do not prefer this kind of genre but then also it was enjoyable. Earlier I would have given the rating as 8 or 9 but as it gets really difficult to watch in later season, I am restricting my self to 6.
If you had asked me a couple of years ago what the best super hero TV show at the time was, I would have said The Flash.
The show started excellently well with a gripping pilot and a good story line. It starts with how Barry Allen becomes The Flash starting with how he gets his powers, then learns how to use/control them and then tries to solve the mystery of his mother's death to avenge his father. Overall season 1 was superb! Season 2 was weak when it comes to the story line but the excitement of seeing new metas, cross over episodes and 'team flash' developing some individual abilities of their own makes watching the season worthwhile.
Season 3 has been average at best and my rating of flash that started from a full 10 has dropped to 7 over two years. Constant time traveling and meddling with things not only gets confusing in my opinion, but also makes you lose interest.
I would definitely recommend people to give this show a go (especially if you are a DC fan) but the eventual and constant decline of the show is pretty obvious as you go on with the episodes.

My last review for this show which I wrote for this show was very positive now each season is getting worse.
This show now focuses too much and Iris and their so called future daughter then Barry. Back in season 1 when the Flash made his debut to the arrowverse the show was good and Grant Gustin was a perfect fit for the role he still is now but the quality of each season is not very good at all.
I don't see much diversity difference at all from the other CW shows but it is just as bad as CW only forced.
If this show really can't improve at all then please cancel this show and start from scratch once again. As they say if it ain't broke don't fix it but if it is broke do fix it.
I have dropped my rating from 10 to 6 since there are some episodes like the crossover episodes which I did enjoy. Other then that I am pretty much done with this show.

I really liked the first three seasons but since season 4, the show really changed. Season 6 is probably the worst. They have added so many characters that we don't even get to see Barry Allen as the Flash anymore. The last seasons have focused so much on Iris that I started hating the show!

The Flash has been one of my favorite superhero shows ever since it first came out. That is until they stopped making the show about The Flash. A few seasons ago they started to feature Iris as the lead character more and more and the quality of the show has dropped ever since. I still watch the show but only because I've been invested for so long. It's not a terrible show, it's just not nearly as good. It's probably time for it to end and it is after next season. The best thing about the show is Grant Gustin as Barry Allen/The Flash. He's fantastic and the best Flash to ever grace tv or movies. Even though it hasn't been as good the last few seasons I would still recommend this to any fan of superhero shows.
I'm a big fan of superhero shows, I even like the ones that most people don't, but The Flash is definitely one of the better ones but it's been getting worse and worse lately because The Flash is barely in it anymore! Like a lot of these reviews have already pointed out...the show has been more focused on Iris lately and I think everyone agreed that that is a huge mistake! Ever since the Crisis Crossover they've put her as pretty much a co-lead and every episode has been among the lowest rated in the series history because of it. Go back to making this show about The Flash because when you did it was great. I absolutely don't mind women as leads in action shows but the CW is getting ridiculous. This is even coming from a liberal who's all about equality but EVERY CW show now has a woman as it's lead now (Supergirl, Catwoman, Stargirl, Legends of Tomorrow and now even The Flash and Black Lightening are all about girl power. They even have a Kung-Fu remake coming and they changed the lead to a woman in that too. I mean WTF? Every woman is portrayed as smart and tough while the men are stupid and weak. Most of them like Laurel Lance & Catwoman look so ridiculous in their fight scenes. It doesn't look like their kicks would hurt a 3-year old but a grown man goes flying or knocked out from a hit that again, wouldn't hurt a child. Again, having women as leads is great but now every show has the women as a bad a** and the men as weak and incompetent.

Remove iris, remove season with devoid, and introducing meta tech was dumb, first few seasons deserves a 9 rating but after that this show deserves to be cancelled

The first couple of seasons were great. Then the CW does what they do best, ruin shows with P.C. crap.
The Flash isn't the Flash anymore. It's now the Iris show. Flash is on screen for small amount of time while Iris runs around in the starring role.
Thanks for ruining the Flash CW. I'm done and hopefully this show is canceled soon.

The Story Line, Effects and most of the cast are soooo awesome, but Iris ruins most of the moments with her cringe behavior

I used to love this show. Yes, there were a few dumb lines and scenes, but overall, it was good. I liked all the characters and everything about the show. However, season 6 was absolutely horrible. I couldn't get through the first episode of that season. This show is a good example as to why it can be a good thing to quit while you're ahead. The producers make the same plot with the same result over and over again. There is only so many times that you can do that without the show getting boring. It was good before.
The first seasons were amazing, I was totally into this show, but with the last seasons I am more and more dissapointed. I keep watching because I'm the kind of person who want to see till the end and to be onest, I want to end once and for all because is everything about Iris. I hoped you could do best, but all I saw was bad.. At least give a good ending.

This use to be my favorite show. It was really compelling early on, but went downhill after about season 3. I see other people's complaints are mainly about Iris. I do see what they say and agree to an extent - this show has quickly evolved into some weird comic book soap opera. The relationships have become really childish. The script sometimes feels like it was written by a team of 15 year old girls. I'd say my biggest complaint, is how stupid its become. The logic has become mind numbingly dumb. Soooo many plot holes. Sooo many inconsistencies. In one episode, called "Flash Time", all the Flashes are running near the speed of light. Then, in other episodes, Flash slips on some marbles and goes "Darn it, the bad guy got away because I fell down. There is no way I'd be able to catch up with them now!" I've forgiven them alot over the years for using dumb logic in their plot devices, in all their episodes , but its become way too much. The writers don't even care anymore about making sense. They've relegated this show to pure stupidity. The crisis crossover has been the dumbest thing I've seen on TV. I mean seriously, in 1 scene, Barry must run on the treadmill to save the multiverse. I use to watch all the arrowverse shows, but I've dropped all of them but Flash, but soon I will be dropping flash. It's obvious their target demographic for this show are 10 yr old girls. It's become 90% relationships 5% dumb logic 5% flash stuff... I mean really, CW, if you're going to make a comic show, why not make it primarily for the folks who watch this stuff? Why target 10 yr old girls? I know people want to hate on Iris, but I'd say she is 10% of the problem. The writers and the showrunner is the main problem.

Seasons 1 and 2 are excellent with great mysteries and compelling stories. The rest, not so much. After these two seasons, it goes downhill quick. I recommend just watching seasons 1 and 2, and then watching the animated movie "Justice League Flashpoint Paradox" once you finish season 2. Then, just stop there.
The main villains in season 1 and 2 are truly great. The intrigue behind who the villains are, in particular, is extremely engaging. The drama is almost always great. However, the characters do like to keep secrets from each other quite a bit which gets frustrating. Some episodes are clearly just filler and feel like a waste of time. Some of the CGI can also be a little off-putting, but that's to be expected with a TV budget. Overall, 9 out of 10 for seasons 1 and 2. Don't care about the others at all.

These women are pains. Nora is a big cry baby and Iris has been a pain since S1E1
The Flash is a show that starts off very good. The first season was awesome. Great villain, great world building, great plot, great characters, great character development, and great emotional scenes. However, The Flash is connected to another show called Arrow, and I felt like season 1 of the flash was basically arrow season 1 in many ways. Season 2 is not as good as season 1 because the main villain in season 2 just copied what the main villain in season 1 did. Otherwise, season 2 really stood out with its dark tone. Season 3 is also great but that's where it went on the more "magical" side of the story. Everything else was still good though, I'd say that season 1 > season 2 > season 3.
I suppose season 4 is when the writing and the quality of the show started to actually drop. This is probably because Todd Helbing joined Andrew Kreisberg (showrunner of season 1-3) as showrunner for this season. At some points when the flash was running, it made me think that the people making the CGI thought that we, the audience, were all speedsters. The show started becoming more colorful and more into a romcom. An example of this is the episode called "Girls' night out" which was funny but filler. This season also didn't have that much of a good villain. As much as I like Devoe, he was so cliche, and boring. The episodes started getting more repetitive, as if the same episode was happening over and over again until the season finale, which was kinda wasted potential. Worst dialogue ever in the season was Iris telling Barry "We are the flash". The best episode this season was Lose Yourself, which actually had some good fights and Iris wasn't that boring and annoying like she was for most of this season. Despite all these problems, I still think season 4 is decent.
I do think that season 5 is better than season 4 but only by a little bit because season 5 has a lot of the problems season 4 had, but season 5 is still at least not as colorful. Yes, we are still treated as if we're speedsters, and yes, it sometimes gets very cringe, and yes, it's sometimes comedic, and yes, the main villain is insanely cliche. However season 5 has a lot of peak moments, like the episode "What's past is prologue" which is when Barry and Nora timetravel to important events in the show and there is also an awesome cliffhanger which really saved season 5 for me. The finale also carried this season because after so long we finally get a good speedster chase involving the Reverse Flash.
The first eight episodes of season 6 were really good, but everything after was utterly disappointing. The episode right after the Crisis crossover was so pointless, I was very sad with what they did. Barry did...nothing? Iris did things that..I don't care about? I suppose after Crisis there was a huge drop in quality and writing for this show, and it was just so sad to look at what season 6 had turned this show into. The worst part about season 6 was that the finale...didn't even feel like a finale. However season 7 picked up where season 6 left and the first episode was very emotional and awesome. Probably my favorite episode in season 7. Episode 2 was also pretty good but I also found Barry a bit annoying in that episode. Episode 3 (Mother) was when I got sad again. And that sadness continued all the way to the last episode of season 7. Somehow, the show started to focus on defeating every villain using thepower of love and a pep talk (Yes, EVERY VILLAIN IN THIS SEASON). And there's also an episode in this season without the flash in it. Yes, the show is called the flash, and the flash isn't in an episode. Another problem was the awful side characters. Killer Frost did become mediocre, Chester became a boring character (to be honest he was already kinda annoying in season 6), Allegra got boring as well, she had so much potential in the first eight episodes of season 6. Iris had completely fallen, and Cecile was falling in a downward spiral. Joe was...wait. Was Joe even in season 7? I can't remember. The worst part was that Cisco was gone. Cisco and Caitlin were the side characters I still cared about, and so it only became Caitlin. At that point, the only character I could still care about was Barry. I felt the same thing for season 8, however that season was better than season 7 and 6 because of the Reverse Flashpoint and Eobard Thawne's appearaces. By season 8, Cecile became a braindead character and the show overall became full-on Power Rangers.
Season 9 is easily one of the worst seasons, mostly because it had 4 filler episodes in a row. Three of them were horrendous and one of them was outstanding. The episode after the last (outstanding) filler was also amazing because that's when the show came full circle. Everything except for those two episodes were either bad, good or decent. The series finale was a joke, and I've learnt the moral of this show. Never have more than one showrunner for a show, because believe me, the quality of the show will otherwise become way too inconsistent for you to like the show anymore.

When the show first started, it pulled you in and was very good and enjoyable. After season 3ish, you clearly see the show going down hill. I slowly started paying less attention to each episode and became less interested in keeping up on episodes from week to week. They have made Iris one of the most annoying and irritating CHARACTERS. The constant she's right, she must be empowered, and her having more screen time than Barry Allen... Just STOP!
"My name is Barry Allen-and I'm the fastest man on earth..."
It is this phrase that you remember first in relation to the series. This story has brought a lot of joys and disappointments.
Let's get this show sorted out quickly. In my personal opinion, you can watch the first 3 seasons with great pleasure, and then it's better to finish. It's not just a matter of lowering the level set by the first seasons, but also that season 3 has an ending that could well end the story (if only 1 branch had just ended, as everyone wanted - and then it would have been fine at all).
Then there is already a dull sh... Of the good, I only remember season 5 with its some intrigue)
The last season was most disappointing, its crumpled ending, and the unjustified expectations themselves (only those who watched will understand after all)
What was good about the series in 3 seasons - a well-presented story (although it's already a bit difficult to talk about season 3, but still), high-quality antagonists (Zoom and Reverse Flash violate the laws of simple villains in trick), high-quality drama (a lot of soulful conversations, as well as sad deaths), plot twists (1x15 is clearly a higher level than the "just superhero" series).
As a result, we got another great show that went bad at the end.
Overall Flash Rating : 6/10

Pushing too much drama into a super hero story and ruining everything. To make it interesting to some stupid people or the director himself, characters start behaving awkwardly in respect to their personality. And, what is up with Iris thing? She became a super smart bad ass from a news reporter now? I wish she was killed by Savitar and there was less drama. Director is pushing drama everywhere, and most of them are not needed. It has become an idiotic series. Now on the 8th episode of season 4, what the hell happened from last episode? Why the hell do you need to bring homosexuality to it in one single episode? No offense on homosexuality but is all these really needed on those scenes? Just injecting these like injecting Barry and Iris marriage plan drama and Joe becoming father drama, and even sometimes Wells singing and dancing drama and everyone is joining? What the hell is this? 1977 family drama series or 2017 super hero one? WAKE UP!
I had given it 9 star rating till season 3.. after watching these episodes of season 4 I can give it more than 4. WATCHING THIS IS A WASTE OF TIME !

When it first started, the flash was an exciting new addition to the arrowverse, with its first season being exceptional. Viewers immediately fell in love with Grant Gustin's Barry Allen (AKA The Flash). The first season was amazing and enjoyable, and the story was very complex, yet felt smooth and even.
Well, how the mighty have fallen. Over the seasons, we see a decrease in quality. As the producers churn out more and more episodes, the drop in quality is apparent. This is especially so in Season 4, which is by far the worst season of the flash. The excitement has all but faded, as each episode repeats the same things over and over again, with the plot being extremely predictable.
It is my hope that the main villain was given more time and that the number of episodes could be decreased, to reduce the number of filler episodes and to end up with a more concise story, that is better told.

I am so tired of the lame writing in this show. I can tell these writers are not committed to the plot and development of a true SUPER HERO. Smallville suffered from the same horrible writing. It isn't hard to write for such epic superheroes. The corny dialogue and the weak plots need to stop...PLEASE STOP
