one of the best sports anime
humangod821 June 2016
Warning: Spoilers
i have seen all most all sports anime. and after finish this i must say great work of art.this anime contain good story plot with very nice character development and also sequence of emotional events.and little bit comedy.

this anime has no main character,i can say all most all character are looks important .this anime is very realistic in psychological way and also as sport anime.

compare with other anime --

first thing is all anime has it's own flavor so all anime are good in it's own way it's depend on viewer taste of judging.

daimond no ace has it's own emotional realistic plot and this is not comparable even even though haikyuu is better than this in many way like action,graphics....but this not more effect overall piece of art.

Words cannot describe how amazing this show is I've watched literally every sports anime out there and I STILL think that diamond no ace is the best anime I've ever seen. <3 yes even better than Haikyu!

Overall perfect, you just need to bring time

The pacing is not that good, but the waiting is worth it. Everytime Sawamura (The MC) is able to complete, what he was fighting for you are as happy as him, and the anime hypes you up to grow yourself.

A remarkable baseball anime!!
pearpear-615599 March 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I had found this anime from someone on twitter. At the beginning of watching this anime, I feel it is a bit boring because our Eijun or my cutie pie or our main character does not have the coach's permission to pitch any ball. But after Eijun has the permission and gets the chance to play in the practice game and get into the second string, the story has become more interesting. The appearance of Chris sempai makes a huge emotion to me, how nice of him and how Chris sempai patient of him to do the physical therapy due to his shoulder injury. The end of season1 makes emotion to me too, because of the lose of Seido and Eijun's yips condition that makes him fear to throw the inside ball. And Chris sempai appears again to encourage Eijun to pitch again, not the inside ball but the outside ball. Chris sempai is like a god that came from haven to help my Eijun to become better Eijun.

And there have a lot of reason that make me like this anime so much and very much such as the story or the character. The story has shown us what baseball players might face to not only play and then game end, but this anime has shown, how happiness when they win the game, how disappointed that they lose the game and cannot reach their team to Kosshien. Not only in a mental way but in a physical way also, how they hard, how they tried, how patient of them, the injury that they have might get during play the game or the yips. And it also shows us the development of them that comes from their real experience not only from their gifted. The characters have their own disappointing time/ losing moment, and they learn from that thing to improve their skills. And I also like how baseball become the biggest part of their life, how they love baseball, how they want to become professional players.

You know, how long I write or how long I say, it cannot tell all the feelings that I have to this anime. The better way to feel it, I think you should watch it. And in the anime, some matches might take more than 10 episodes long. So please make sure you have time to watch it in a long take, you might feel excited and get into it, and you will find that how baseball amazing.

An anime that takes time
Moviebility22 October 2022
When I first watched this anime I'm not gonna lie that I'm one of those fans that complain about "Oh look another Furuya episode" and it's just so frustrating to see that he is so overrated and I hate how he overshadows Sawamura in most part but hey after rewatching the anime for the millionth time without skipping any episode I came to appreciate every character and even the baby-steps progress Sawamura has gone through plus the rivalry he has with Furuya that comes with bromance are to die for! This is probably the only anime that I came to the extent of learning how to read a Manga because I'm that obsessed with this Anime!

Not really a sports anime
OrewaShinobi5 April 2020
I stumbled across this anime after watching Hajime no Ippo, Captain Tsubasa, Yowamushi Pedal and One Outs, they got me hooked to sports anime, I had high expectation from this one since it had a very good rating but it was very disappointing. How should I put it, it's more of a SLICE OF LIFE anime rather than a Sports anime. When I watched Hajime no ippo I felt so pumped up I started working-out, One Outs showed me how much a baseball game weighs upon the pitcher, and so on.

This anime is kinda like fairy tail, it has overpowered characters but the plot, back stories, character development are too shallow. There are brief moments when they actually do sports but most of the time it's just gags and other stuff.

If you looking for a baseball anime to watch, this ain't the one, The one that comes recommended is ONE OUTS. Peace

Decent Sports Anime
thepunsama18 February 2021
This anime is simple. Don't expect any progress and development like Haikyuu, Kuroko No Basket, Hajime No Ippo, Captain Tsubasa or One Outs. This anime is nothing like them, however it's still a good watch.

The story follows Sawamura Eijun a southpaw but he doesn't really feel like a MC. His character development in insanely slow, nothing even remotely close to any of the anime I've mentioned above. Even after 3 seasons you won't find yourself remotely impressed by his development which is incredibly disappointing for a series with so much episodes.

Ignoring the MCish the story and animation is pretty good and pretty much all the good teams have amazing characters you'll get to know and love. If you can ignore the horrible character development of the MC then you would love this anime.
