That Elijah scene at church is one of my favorite at the show. Clever and powerful. You should really listen what kind of promises Elijah give. I wouldn't hurt Elijah's family any way. Everyone fears Klaus, but Elijah should be the one who you should fear. He isn't so predictable like he's brother.

If consistency is something important to you, beware this episode will frustrate you.
Overall I have been very impressed with this series, until this episode. When writers forget about the very rules they created within their "world", I lose a great deal of interest in the show.
I found it rather odd how the two linked to each other suffer the initial effects of the curse, yet in all scenes following the initial one, the witch shows absolutely no effects of the curse.
It may seem odd, but for me things like that tend to ruin a show. If the rules writers create for their own worlds cannot be adhered to, it undoes any good or credibility their world may have developed.
I really hope this was a once off mistake, as I stopped watching The Vampire diaries, due to all the inconsistencies in that world.

Unlinking Hayley and Sophie

Elijah and Klaus are reading books as a bleeding girl lies on the coffee table. Hayley comes out wearing cute nightwear looking for milk. Elijah comes to pour her a bowl and cereal. Rebekah drags the dead girl out and goes to clean the carpet.
Elijah keeps his promise to Davina and gives her pages from his mother's books. If she manages to unknot the knot, it would break the link between Hayley and Sophie.
Agnes, an Elder, has Sophie chained up and injects her with a giant needle. The needle is to kill a fetus by raising its temperature.
Elijah finds Sophie and takes her back to the home. Sophie requests Rebekah to fetch some items so she can make a mixture. Hayley goes into the swimming pool with Elijah as instructed by Sophie and Davina manages to unknot the knot. Sophie tests out the linkage by pricking her finger. It worked. Rebekah plans on leaving as Elijah is safe.
Before she leaves she goes to see Marcel where they end up having sex. She wears a black bra. Marcel wants to stay and not go with Rebekah. This leaves Rebekah furious.
Elijah comes home to the place that was formerly the plantation that Marcel worked at. Hayley is not there. Klaus comes and says Marcel here. On the phone Rebekah is shocked to hear Hayley is missing.
