Came out of nowhere and kicks you straight in the nostalgia

If you're a 70's-80's, (not a kid anymore) kid, you're going to feel right at Sunday school watching this documentary.

The animation is top notch. Very reminiscent of Sunday school. The voice acting is superb. I don't recognize the voice actors, but they all killed it. And finally, the jokes are subtle, targetted and on point. You don't feel like you're being beaten on the head with the very obvious hypocrisy of the Church.

As someone who was indoctrinated as a child, the juxtaposition of Satan teaching at Sunday school was so beautifully done. Upon reflection, it's odd no one has used this concept before. It takes a true master to find art hidden in plain sight.

Because the documentary does draw the line in the sand against Christianity, I fully expect the ratings to be hit by Fundamentalists. So if the rating is a 7 - it's truly a 9. If it's a 9, it's absolutely an 11.

Excellent work. Well worth a watch.

Digestible Scholarship

I was born Catholic, but could only afford Lutheran School. So yeah CCD & Sunday School. I grew up in NYC suburbs (NJ) with Jews,Muslim, Hindu & my Karate Instructor was Buddhist. While Christianity terrified me. I was always fascinated by religion. I've spent my life reading about the milieu that gave birth to Christianity. I'm not a scholar. I've taken all my electives in this topic and my Greek is improving 😬. I've watched twice and never thought this isn't the scholarly consensus. Engaging and creative as well. The students are funny and all have their own personalities. They use humor to show each student (people) all have different levels of curiosity.
