Stanley Lewis, a veteran of the Vietnam War, reports two weapons missing from his home: "an M16 rifle, and a 9 millimeter" in his own words. He goes on to say that both were his military service weapons that he kept after he "mustered out in '69". However the US military did not adopt 9mm ammunition until 1985, and issued the first 9mm sidearm, the M9, in 1990, far too late for service in 1969.
