This one is even that much more not for the squeamish. It has a brutal plot development that has nothing to do with the usual wolf attacks. It's more like I SPIT ON YOUR GRAVE style revenge with a gigantic pair of steel pincers, and for those of you who now instantly suspect what it might be, yes, you are quite right. Definitely not for kiddies. All the Mother Grundies out there complaining about the nudity on TV, well, take a gander here, a little bit of (oh so beautiful) BITTEN- style nudity is REALLY nothing compared to this.
The two main players are once again keeping all their clothes on this episode. Honors are done by the classy fine- featured chick playing delectable Amanda, returning for a scene involving Nick. The sex scene is beautifully filmed, showing little more than legs, but yeah, too tame it is also not. But for the prudes out there, let me just say, the scenes following later on, are so gory (well, in a non-explicit bloodless TV way) that you lot might really rather want to backtrack to the pretty girl!
Language are also quite strong in places, certainly for TV. Sexual and scatological. (I am kinda old school and still find it surprising - I have to remind myself BITTEN was made for cable).
About the acting: The bad guys aren't convincing, as I've mentioned in previous reviews. They appear to be the B-team, as if Clay can kick their asses just like that. They don't appear to pose much threat, not in the way that a fledgling show like this needs. I mean, MORE is needed. In truth, the only two players worth their salt, Laura Vandervoort and Grayston Holt. Some others get Bs on their report cards from me, others do considerably worse. I suspect that many of you might disagree, but key player Greg Bryk WAY WAY under-performs, and, like I said, KEY player, leaving the show faltering.
Ah well, I, of course, sit there ooh-ing and ah- ing over Laura, so these are just aw-what-the-hell little comments.
